I seriously doubt that you could pause lets say Ifrit fight indefinitely.
If this can happen then the ability is overpowered unless the cooldown is like 10 mins or 90% resistable.

I'm sure there will be resistances and immunities. Ifrit would be a good example for immunity. He's scripted after all.
