Remember. Balance. I'm going to say something a lot of you probably won't agree with or won't want to hear. If you are running out of MP that fast, you either aren't a great Pgl or you aren't used to the new Pgl. There is a reason each stance only has a ten second recast. Turn it off when not using it, moving or it's not increasing damage much and low on MP. As said, use Taunt > Featherfoot every chance you get. Furthermore Sucker Punch gets 200 MP every time on even mediocre damage, and is near instant recast. If you're worried "well then I have to sucker punch only and lose damage" Pgl AA is a large chunck of their damage, and Howling Fist is currently the strongest WS in the game. If you this you will have a lot of MP, and yeah you'll still run out but fists add a lot of damage, and having this full time, especially with kick attacks would be over powered.

I agree with most the of the stuff you're saying, but I don't get people saying "lol use Taunt". You're going to be in one of three situations with a Pugilist, and in two of them Taunt is typically a bad idea:As said, use Taunt > Featherfoot every chance you get. A: You're soloing. There's no point to using Taunt because the enemy is already attacking you. Just use Featherfoot by itself.
B: You're in a group, and you use Taunt and pull aggro from the tank, potentially making things more difficult on your group and at worst case scenario screwing everything up just so you can get your 100-200 MP back off a Featherfoot.
C: You ARE the tank, which is not very likely anymore as Pugilist is a DD class now and is not often used as a tank for things, even though it still can to a degree. In this event, Taunting is fine I guess even though the enemy is already attacking you because it generates enmity.
Taunt is pretty damn useless for forcing Featherfoots IMO, it should only be used for what it was made for: pulling enemy aggro off the tank if he's hurt or someone getting jumped because the tank couldn't hold aggro in an emergency.

In B, Taunt (if coordinated) offers the tank a breather and gives you a possible Haymaker stun.
XI: Zeroblade, Titan Server

Taunt only temporarily makes you the target and doesn't actually add any/very much enmity at all, and it lasts for only a few seconds. You taking 1-2 swings isn't going to get your party killed and if you get hit you always have Second Wind, and, as was brought up, a possible Haymaker stun is awesome. Of course, certain NMs are dangerous to do this with but if you're smart about it it won't be an issue.

Yea the purpose of Taunt really is to temporarily attract attention, likely for a Featherfoot + Haymaker. With the 200+ MP you gain from Featherfoot and the 5s Stun that is not interrupted via attacks this can be a great clutch move to save the tank.
Like others have said, it doesn't generate much enmity at all.

The awkward moment where you taunt ifrit and he uses incinerate on melees :P j/k
