Import it to PvE could lead to an extend of skillsets, making more situational skills getting adds into the game.
I really would love to have combo skills in PvE.

I want to be able to choose auto combos or not, I think for some jobs I would use it and other jobs I wouldnt but why not give us the option of choice.
It doesnt auto though it just binds the combo to a single button you still have to postion/move for it.
Also doing that would allow us to get more and more attacks so rlly our button input would go up with it
Would be 1111 for combo 1 22222 for combo 2 33333 for combo 3 then throwing in things that may trigger like verfire, fire stone...
I think it would work better as letting us create a combo set than use an auto one though
I'd really like it for AoE combos since a lot of the time it's just a two button combo so keeping it to one key wouldn't feel much different. They're already do stuff like this with salted earth + salt and darkness so I don't really see why it's much different for the other AoE
Because Salted Earth goes on CD and can't be used anymore and Salt and Darkness is a triggered ability connected to it.I'd really like it for AoE combos since a lot of the time it's just a two button combo so keeping it to one key wouldn't feel much different. It's very different than a 1 2 3 combo too because it takes the button out of commission, so doing something with it is fine imo.
Spamming one button does feel very different than spamming two buttons imo, seriously I really hope that the devs don't listen to people asking for this.
Both because it wouldn't be a choice, or at least it wouldn't feel like it.
No one will on purpose hamper themselves and make things more difficult in a game like this.
Even if you wouldn't be literally forced into it if it was made an option most people would still feel heavily incentivized to do it even if they didn't like it especially in hard content.
And also because the devs would start designing the game around it.
There are cases where it being one button makes sense, for example the GNB Gnashing Fang combo because it's one ability that has been split into three buttons.
Same with Salted Earth and Salt and Darkness, it's essentially one ability so making it one button makes sense.
Your 1 2 3 combo however is not one and the same or so heavily tied to one another and also when you press one of them they don't make the button otherwise unavailable with a CD and you press them more regularly.
Separate abilities should be separate buttons imo.
The more buttons you start removing the less involved it begins to feel and even if you make it optional it's still going to end up being the norm and what people feel compelled to do.
We've seen this for almost twenty years now in WoW and how horribly this simplification and hand-holding has affected the game and its content in the modding scene and how it very much isn't optional in effect.
PVP is made for short term rotations , hence why all the jobs have a skewered rotation compared to PVE (maybe except MCH). As such the most wouldnt. The key word here is most as this sounds like a great solution to button bloat.
The only 1-2-3 that would benefit from it is MCH, PLD, GNB and DRK as they dont have divergent rotations like DRG, SAM, NIN, MNK, WAR. This also could benefit RDM as 1-2-3 is a lonesome finisher than a rotation and perhaps even go further having procs replace its Ver-starter spells similar in vein to firebird trance or verflare/holy. Lots of jobs can benefit from this change but the issue is none of those jobs really suffer from button bloat I mean MCH has like 3 skills overall, and RDM isnt exactly suffering from it and the one job that needs it , probably SAM, cant have it without some serious downgrading ...or what the game calls a "rework"
“Theirs really not much you can change with the MCH”

Where is the ambition?
Absolutely do not want. I hate the auto-combo in PvP already. Feels like the game gets partially played for me. No thanks
No, ty. I'd like to feel I'm in control of my character and not "mash 1 and the game plays itself for you".
I'd like auto combo buttons for the abilities that REQUIRE a previous combo action to perform the skill, simply because it would help free up space on my hotbar and make it so my fingers don't have to keep breakdancing awkwardly when I need to position for mechanics and execute said combo at the same time. I'm talking things like the GNB Gnashing Fang combo which takes up three spaces on your hotbar when it may as well take up just one (until 6.0 at least, thanks Endwalker), or DRG Fang and Claw & Wheeling Thrust which you ONLY press in order after executing a combo.
For the normal combo abilities, I'd just leave them alone. Things like Perfect Balance/Formless Fist and Meikyo Shisui give you a reason to use abilities outside of the conventional combo. I know that SAM is a bit... hotbar heavy, but as it's not as highly dependant on hitting positionals except on finishers it's not so much of an issue to me.
