    That could be a good idea to reduce button bloat for future expansions without having to further prune our skills. If they were to do it right now, most jobs would become really boring, as they'd reduce to mindless key spamming. But if/when they introduce more skills and more combos, such a system might become the only viable solution.

    I'd love to see it happen. It's a great way to reduce button bloat and leave plenty of room to add new, engaging skills in the future.

    Sure... make PvE even more simple. People are still unable to press 11 buttons in PvP, how should that help in PvE?

    Having combo-buttons would only make sense, if the class stay complex enough (like Blade and Soul). But FFXIV is simple enough, no need to add combo-buttons in PvE. If you think so, play SAM or RDM. You re welcome.

    I don't see a problem with having this as an option. I don't know If I would use it.

    What if Mortal Kombat allowed you to do all fatalities with one button pressed multiple times versus multiple buttons the same amount of times?
    In theory which button is pressed is less relevant than what those buttons do. But in practice it's feels like mashing one button is less interesting than cycling buttons.

    There's no "optional" with this, because either they balance damage and encounters around everyone just hitting 1 button over and over or they don't, so for the sake of balance they would have to force it on everyone and shift focus on oGCD damage.

    I think this will happen in the next expansion. Alot of skills replace or are useless unless used in a combo, so I think they will do this for 5.0

    I have not done pvp since sb launch but my understanding is in your rotation the buttons change to what you should be pressing next rather than you having each ability on your bars.

    Well not all classes have strict rotations. Healer dps rotations are simple at best and healing itself has no rotation at all. Tanks are somewhat similar in that their rotation depends on whether they're trying to get threat or trying to dps. Tanks and healers don't press the same buttons in the same order all the time.

    So basically this would mean dps would have a significantly easier time playing their classes. So yea that's an unfair advantage.
