Limit on number of names displayed?

I just logged in to try the new event at the Amphitheater in Gridania, and I'm noticing something unusual... the game is limiting the number of names above player and NPC heads displayed at any one time. This has never happened on my system before, even in packed areas on the congested server I'm on (Gilgamesh) like Quarrymill, Rhalgr's Reach, or pre-SB Idyllshire, or any location during these seasonal events.

I can't seem to find any option to return it to the way it was before... I used to be able to see an NPC's quest bubble above their head in a crowded area from a distance, but now I don't see it, or the NPC's name, until I get much closer. Am I just failing at finding the option to set it back, or is this a permanent change now?

As far as I know it's always been like that. Since ARR I've had to wade into a sea of people and stand on an NPC's head with my camera pointed just so to see the quest marker and be able to click it in especially crowded instances. Maybe this is the first time you're doing something at launch during prime-time? Or maybe it's the first time you're noticing it since you're not quite so new and overwhelmed any more?

This is definitely new for me, I've done events on the first day before and never had this happen. Hell, it's not even really all that crowded there compared to other events I've done, or other crowded places I've been.

You can check the display limit if on PC to see if its on maximum. System -> Other Settings
Other than that it has always done that even on max if there are too many people nearby.

I'd already found the display limit option, and it was still at maximum. Thanks though.

Maybe it is just something I never noticed before... I'm just sure I remember going into places like Quarrymill and barely being able to even see anything past the solid wall of names on my screen. I never had any reason to take a screenshot of it though, so I can't confirm it... *shrug*
