    Alternative Method to changing class

I've been thinking about this and wonder how other players would feel about it. Changing class whenever/wherever you want is a huge plus and I love that instead of something like the mog house in FFXI. By no means would I want to see that change.

I think this idea will be more useful with the introduction of more weapon types. I'd love to see a Scythe, Great Sword, Katana & Great katana for example.

The problem with the current method of using weapon types to change classes is obvious: No one class can use multiple weapon types. I'd like a different method of changing classes so that would no longer be the case.

FFXI had a great system in my opinion. Each class could use multiple weapons, but were better with certain ones than others. If I got a really good sword drop from an NM with some awesome stats, I'd like to be able to use it without having to be GLA. For example: GLA can be an A+ with a sword, but if I'd like to switch to MRD (maybe MRD could have a B ranking with a sword) and use the same weapon, why not? The current system makes that impossible.

It would be nice to just switch your class from the menu and adjust your gear accordingly.

I don't want them to just copy the system from XI, some people may not like the hassle of skilling up different weapons as well. However, I think the basic idea of having each class have certain skill rankings with multiple weapons would make the game more fun. I still think its reasonable to not allow a White Mage to carry around a Great Axe, but more options depending on class would be nice... I just feel like one simply isn't enough.

Just my thoughts... Do you share the same opinion?

I would vote for this idea, but SE kind of made it clear that classes =/= jobs.

Classes are weapon specialists, having an large arsenal of weapons would kind of defeat the point of being a single type weapons expert.
