For some reason, I can't get wardrobes, bookshelves or cupboards to work with floating the rug, but I can use other items pretty reliably (fireplaces, tables, cabinets, etc).

Does the Riviera Shelf work with the rug? I see a stage panel in your image. Does it have to move in small increments with the shelf?

    Sorry for all the questions lol ^^;
Yes, the Riviera Wall Shelf works with the rugs as well. Have to test a little to get it centered correctly so it will work. I start with Oriental Round Table/Hingan Wardrobe/Glade Open Shelf Bookcase for a quick boost up then switched to the wall shelf. You can place the bottom of the brackets of the wall shelf even with the bottom of the item you want to float and it will jump up that amount.

I did go back and float the rug almost to the ceiling on the upper floor of my house without issue but decided it wasn't giving me quite the look I wanted.

Awesome, can't wait to try that! Thank you so much <3

Edit: Gave it a shot last night, and with a good bit of practice/finding the "middle", I managed to get the rug right where I wanted it! Thanks again

Also you can use the loft itself to raise rugs once you get it a bit off the ground. This way you could keep it level with where you want the loft to be and not have the rug float or look too sunken in, and it's a lot easier to line up with the 'middle'.

So I'm not sure if anyone does this (nothing I came across suggested it), but you can simply loft a bed (futon seemed easiest) up from the basement level for a large house. As for placement, I used a stage panel between the two pillars directly across from the center chandelier (under the staircase), and placed the bed as close to the wall as possible but off-center from the stage a bit to the left, perpendicular with head to wall, and using a riviera wall shelf to get it up. It ends up with an edge of the bed peeking out from the wall underneath the landing, which you can then /doze on.

I'd recommend using another bed to place underneath the stairs themselves so you can get back in if you don't get that second bed's placement just right.... I had to do it twice because I couldn't /doze onto the bed with it placed horizontally next to the stairs for some reason. Or you can just leave that first bed in place and /doze from the wall next to the landing at ground level. The bed can be fully pulled in so nothing shows from the outside, although I did make sure to place it as close to the wall as possible just in case.

I haven't been successful with the storage glitch to get into the space for the basement stairs though T.T I think I'm doing something wrong with it but I guess I'll keep trying.

EDIT: Success~! Place bed as close to wall as possible, rotate so head faces inward under staircase, /doze, voila Now that it's actually worked, it's much easier than lofting bed up from the basement

I saw a picture of someone who put their mannequins on the banisters at the inside front entry of a large house. Does anyone know how I would be able to do this? Any ideas would be appreciated

Storage glitch can be used to place items on the banisters and stairs of a house.

Using mouse/keyboard, select the item you want to place from storage (not your inventory) and move it to where you want it to be. Instead of using a mouse click to place it, double-click your Display Subcommand shortcut key (found in Keybinds under System if you don't know yours). Once placed, you can rotate the item.

I'm not a controller user so I'm not certain how it's done with one.

The storage glitch will also let you place some furnishings closer to walls than you can through normal placement, though it works slightly differently. You can't move the item for placement, instead of you want to be standing in the correct spot so the item appears where you want it to be when you select it from storage. If it's not quite in the spot you want, move your character then select the item from storage again until it is. There can be a bit of trial and error until you have it where you want it. Double-click Display Subcommand shortcut key to place the item. Then you're free to rotate it. It doesn't work with all furnishings and I've found there are some where I still can't get things quite as close as I want, though at least they're closer than I could get them otherwise.

4.1 brought us several really nice fake windows that react to game time. Unfortunately by default they can only be placed on real walls.
Well, we can get around it pretty easily by abusing the snap feature that annoys everyone during float glitching.

As of 4.1 this applies to Fool’s Portal, Imitation Oblong Window, and Imitation Stained Crystal Ornament.

Yes, we have to place the window first on a real wall.

Next we place a partition (trusty White Partition) as close to the wall as possible. Disable Grid Snap for precision.

Then, when you exit the Layout editor, that window should snap onto the partition.

From here you can move the partition/window combo around freely, even rotate it.
You can even toggle counter surface and remove the partition to leave it free-floating.

What you cannot do is move the window itself, so you will have to be extremely careful aligning the window in vertical space before putting it wherever it will ultimately be.

And just FYI the Fool’s Portal has one-way collision. Good for trapped fake doors.
I tried doing this post 5.1, but my windows didn't snap onto the partition. Has it been patched or it's just my issue?

Hello! Can anyone help me with this floating glitch I'm trying to do?

So I'm trying to place this statu (non-tabletop) in the exact X/Y axis, but levitated on top of the countertop as shown in the red sketch. I've tried the storage glitch and it's not working, I keep getting the "item cannot be placed" error every time I try.
