actualy...ps3/pc servers will be shared with 2.0 dont know why you think they wouldnt beIt would be no problem because they are using different servers for 2.0, the PS3 version will not be on the current servers, so the population will not matter at all, infact it will only benefit from a merger and no one will see it any different except demand was not what SE expected (which is already widely known)
and its not like they cant open new servers when ps3/2.0 hits, its not like thats imposible to do

Never said they wouldnt be, what I said is that if they reduce server numbers it doesnt matter if they need to add more for population because the servers we are playing on will be gone come 2.0, not that they will not be shared, PS3 version will be on the 2.0 servers NOT the ones we are playing on now.
they wont eliminate the servers we are on....i dont think you understand how its going to workNever said they wouldnt be, what I said is that if they reduce server numbers it doesnt matter if they need to add more for population because the servers we are playing on will be gone come 2.0, not that they will not be shared, PS3 version will be on the 2.0 servers NOT the ones we are playing on now.
they will upgrade them to the new version yes, but they wont just get rid of servers and create new ones

This is true, but if they merge all PC players into one place (now), when PS3 launches and they add new servers the old servers will be mostly PC and the new ones mostly PS3.
So it would have the effect of making seperate servers (perhaps not comepletely seperate but still enough to make the difference)
What effect that will have on PS3 players wanting to play with PC gamers, ie different UI, addons etc is anyones guess also.

simple they would just join a server that has their PC buddies already on it, or their PC friends could transfer over to that server. That and the UI will not be that much different from PC and PS3, like FFXI was. This is true, but if they merge all PC players into one place (now), when PS3 launches and they add new servers the old servers will be mostly PC and the new ones mostly PS3.

How is it simple if the server is close to full. (remember launch and how hard it was to get on to a full sever ?)
Maybe the PC player doesn't want to move away from his linkshell and friends.
Yoshi-p said he plans to add a seperate UI for PC users which includes drag and drop. (addons will also have a knock on effect on this)
That was my point.

yes PC version will have addons, but the default setup will be the same for both PC and PS3, and again the two would intergrate fine, does not matter what is happening on your PC client, the PS3 will read it and relay it just fine. How is it simple if the server is close to full. About server, you think that they will drop the servers that much? they are not going to shove everyone onto 3-4 servers -.- When PS3 version comes out, there will be new people on all servers, tons of transfers, and people going from PC to PS3.
I'm not saying one is incompatible with the other, what I'm saying is that a PC user interface is less cumbersome and allows players to react faster.yes PC version will have addons, but the default setup will be the same for both PC and PS3, and again the two would intergrate fine, does not matter what is happening on your PC client, the PS3 will read it and relay it just fine.

This means that PC players will have a slight advantage and PS3 players may not want to play with them because of that.
It's like how PC FF11 players had windower as an advantage, expect this time the gap will be much bigger because we will have actual addons and better controls and user interface.
We already have hints that they plan to make language specific servers, nothing to stop them to make platform specific servers if people cry up for it.
I'm only stating my opinion here by the way, so don't get so offensive.

ff11 was only on ps2 at release and it didnt have any problems integrating pc players onto the same servers and onto new servers, and then lets look at the 360 release which also integrated new playersThis is true, but if they merge all PC players into one place (now), when PS3 launches and they add new servers the old servers will be mostly PC and the new ones mostly PS3.

this isnt something new thats going on after all, players will get to choose their servers, youll get new pc players alongside ps3 players when it all happens and all of them will merge in with each other as they choose servers, just the older servers may be a bit more ps3 light then the newer ones when it happens
