Well both blm and summoner get buffed after launch. BLM get 0.2sec faster cast times and summoner get 10 more potency for miasma/bio. Before these buffs RDM was easily strongest caster dps.
Red Mage was strong, but not because of its toolkit. It was strong because of a mana glitch, that once that was patched out put it below the others.
