Fairy balance is tricky because she is part of a team. You can't just say her healing is poor without looking at how Lilly's abilities mesh with the scholar's.

Would players be happy with their job if they healed and shielded for less in exchange for a stronger fairy? It's a tough question. The only thing for sure is fairy healing will not become so powerful that a scholar could dps 100% of time.

Thinking about the situation objectively, it is more likely Selene will be reworked because the default pet choice is always Eos. Selene must bring something to the party which will make the choice regarding which pet to bring meaningful.

Chain is very very good, admittedly much more so than I initially gave it credit for on SB's launch.

The problem with Fey Wind and Selene is that whilst yes, it's extra DPS, you'll typically net more overall by using Rouse/WD to allow the healer(s) to spend additional GCDs DPSing instead of healing. It's a similar trap that NoctAST often falls into =/

Simply put, the group buffs didn't outweigh the raw DPS lost elsewhere for various reasons. In Noct AST's case, losing that constant drip of healing from the fairy put more pressure on both healers to pick up the slack usually with time inefficient GCD heals.

It's worth noting that even with the Balance nerf, this is less of an issue now than it used to be IMHO.
