Adding extra inventory tabs

That would be awesome! And it may be obvious but extend that to our retainers too! And if SE adds the ability to see what my retainers are holding without having to actually go to a bell or ward that would be doubly wicked. Never did understand why we couldn't have a link pearl with our retainers. And if at some point I could print what is in my and my retainers inventory just to help manage all that stuff that would be terrific.

Excellent idea! However, I have a minor suggestion to add onto this.

I would prefer a system similar to the chat tabs. You add a new tab and filter what you would / wouldn't like to see in it. This way people don't have tabs for things they don't care about, and people who want tabs for say... 'woodworking ingredients' can do that too. You could also easily create a tab for 'materia', but perhaps your friend wants their catalysts visible in there too while you don't. No problem, it's custom!

These tabs would merely be filtered lists of the complete inventory tab, so they wouldn't have to implement any extra or separate storage. Any tabs configured should be visible when examining both the player's inventory and their retainers'.

Woah, ideas running rampant. Let's not forget there are currently bad code limitations in place. But then with v 2.0, who knows...?

+1 for me as well, and I do wish materia didn't count, but I understand why it does, having new tabs would be nice.

Yes, being able to sort our inventory by priority was a step in the right direction, but not enough.. This would be awesome!

Custom tabs would be nice, kind a like chat windows, where I can tick what i'd like to see in each.

Tick boxes could cover, materials, materia, gear types (foot, head etc), gear class/job types (gld, pld, war, mdr, etc)

It sounds complicated, but it would actually be very easy to implement, doing something like this in SQL would be a synch, so hopefully the FFXIV coders could manage it in their engine.
