    Live GM Events

Since we are now paying customers. I would like it if some of the money went to more Live GM events/story telling. Surely you can Hire 1 or 2 more GMs per language. Also I do not want them to be as rare as the Newspaper GMs in town.

One of the key words in your years mission statement is LIVE, and I think that is something very fun this game could offer, whether it be those people in town. a GM controlling a very powerful MOB, or some Gerlean trouble

I can agree with this. I'd like to see more GMs roaming about. Even with the extended amount of time I've been playing (since launch), as my luck would have it, I've yet to have seen a GM in person much less held a conversation with one. I'm pretty into the Lore of the game and if there were Live GMs around to amplify the Lore, I'd enjoy things all the more.

Besides, this is another way to have some quests implemented. Have the GM issue the quest and let the homepoint be an NPC that's setup somewhere. That'd be pretty interesting too.

Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?

I'd like to see GM's actually doing the stuff they are meant to, like banning bots and getting back peoples paragon crowns (items) that they've vendored before roleplaying for the community.

I believe you're of the wrong assumption of what a GM's duties are regarding assisting players. In the Square-Enix support center, a GM's duties are listed in the following manner:

Issues that a GM will assist with:

    •Harassment
    •Inappropriate Behavior
    •Activities that affect game balance
    •Real Money Transactions (RMT)/RMT Solicitation
    •Impersonation

I can understand your concerns about the bots, but I feel like the game going pay to play will help the situation more. I would suppose that the GMs cannot ban the bots until they have proof of those "players" being RMTs (despite the obvious name patterns and what-have-you) such as RMT solicitation and all. As far as getting back Paragon Crowns or other items, I'm quite sure that the GM wouldn't be able to do anything like revive that item for a player. There are confirmations in place to counteract such a thing, if the player manages to click through confirmations to sell their item in the instance of "Paragon Crown" > "Sell", then there's really nothing more to do for that person.

Either way, I don't see the need to not have the GM participate in the community in reference to these two specific situations.

Oh where does it say Roleplaying for special events ?

Or do we just pick and choose what they should encompass based on our own opinion ?

I don't really care what SE say a GM should be, I know what a GM should be based on playing other MMO's, if they don't encompass those same rules which we all know they don't then they are pretty poor examples of GM's. (which we all know they are)

Well, Role-playing for special events isn't an "issue", it's more like an "extra" which is the orientation of the thread's topic.

I just posted the issues that Square-Enix, themselves, have listed as a GM's duties involving in-game support.

"Or do we just pick and choose what they should encompass based on our own opinion ?

I find it a little strange that you'd ask a question and say the exact thing you were attempting to rebut. Maybe you're passionate about it, in which case I'd understand. You want more support from the GMs, that's fine. In a way, we're wanting the same thing: More GM appearances being as though they're role playing or assisting us, in person, in the game.

Those duties are what we call "Customer service".

The reality is that I'd like to see more traditional GMs make a comeback. You know, like the GMs in Everquest before SoE went all "CSR" on their asses.

I agree they should be solving problems. You selling a hat isn't their problem. I have had my share of cases they should of been able to fix. Like paying 5k for airship, the airship not taking me. They would not teleport me OR give me my 5k gil back. I know for a fact he could of teleported me if giving me gil is not a possibility.
