The PF system already makes groups do this, right? Lose a member during an instance, everyone exits to find a replacement, lose progress.

Either everyone is on board, or everyone is not. Remove all compromises.

It doesn't make you. It is the group's choice. Been in plenty of groups where being a man down didn't actually matter and we still finished up and got loot.

If you've been kicked from so many groups you actually believe that it should be all or nothing I suggest re-evaluating your playstyle.

but then people would see that I'm not rolling on the shaft because I want the guy who rolled 99 on the shaft to win the pedal instead, allowing me to possibly win the shaft!

Another one I thought about is a "Repair All" button that actually repairs all items damaged instead the way it is, section by section.

Of the already-mentioned things, Glamour Log and ability to do actions while mounted (talking, abandoning leves, etc) would be good.
Also:
Instanced housing plots (not apartments)
Making all gear dyeable from the start (stop creating duplicate sets that can simply be dyed)
Desummoning and Stabling the chocobo in one step or the ability to temporarily stable it for training without desummoning it.
Improved Mega-FATE scaling and incentives for older content.

I can see why they have it so you dismount when talking to a NPC. WoW has something similar(or had? only during certain times? haven't played since 7.0) where you'd automatically dismount around quest NPCs so folks wouldn't block them with their giant mounts.

This should absolutely be a thing.
You should be able to stay on your mount to do basic things like applying glamour.
Why can we still not repair in the Squadron rooms (and I think Inns)?
All of these little, pointless restrictions need to go.

Wouldn't be a problem here mostly since there is a keybind (Target Nearest NPC) to target things even if they are covered by players. Gamepad has an even easier time. AFAIK in WoW most players click on the NPC to target which is where the problem comes from.

WoW has the same button(Interact With Target in keybinds) but the amount of people who know about it compared to those who don't /shrug
