Geez...you'd think healers would be glad of one less character to have to concern themselves with in regards to heals. I guess I should stop dodging AoE's too while I'm at it. Wouldn't want our healers to get bored now, would we?

Don't be absurd; you have to know these players KD is referring to. There are plenty of RDMs and PLDs out there who self-heal on reaction whenever they take damage, and no, healers are not glad for it. There is only so much HP to heal, and backseat healers waste everyone's time. Clemency and Vercure are great clutch tools and have some strategic use (e.g. activating Divine Veil, setting up Dual Cast during phase transitions), but primary heals they are not.

Sadly I personally encounter more RDMs of the opposite... ones who don't res or heal in emergency even if one healer is down and the 2nd lacks in mp... especially in the new 24 raid : ((

You realize that 90% of PLD's who USE clemency in their DPS rotation and hate is because it allows the healers to DPS more? OR do you not play tank? Cause it sounds like you've never speed run as a PLD or have obtained Clemency. Clemency + Shield Oath + MP regain from constant hits Sheltron = more clemency.

Healing generates hate for PLD's, similar to flash but with more MP consumption and just as much enmity generation. Before you speak up, please make sure you understand how PLD works.

Unlike RDM having or needing to veracure because healers don't have the right equipment to do their job properly, PLD's play properly.

And you are? using Clemency severely messes with requiescat's timing and replaces a holy spirit cast during it. Clemency is just as limited as Vercure, but is infinitely less spammable due to it's cost. If you're using Clemency in PUGs in the vain attempt to bump healer DPS, you fall into the same trap as vercuring for the same reason. Using clemency in this way will only reliably yield that result if there's communication between you and the healer.

It's not something that will make healers instantly do better. Pretty sure 9 out of 10 skilled healers aren't banking on a clemency to throw their rocks. I believe in healers to account for my stupid.

I havent looked up or researched any of the formulas for enmity generation, but considering healing does reduced enmity per target in combat... having you claim that clemency does the same aggro generation as Flash sounds completely absurd. and even if it WERE the case, flash is... half the cost of a single clemency? that sounds extremely inefficient.

So basically you don't play PLD at all. Got it. Speaks volumes of your in ability to understand what the usage is for. That's all I really needed to know.

Clemency generates hate, similar to heals. Although PLD being a TANK class, it generates more hate, as opposed to a healer. PLD's use it as much in their rotation when tanking throughout a dungeon. We're not talking about raids, but dungeons. And yes, a good pld would use it during add phase, as much as flash. Your CD's are one thing, and those should always be used. Req is a great tool to have, and should be utilized on bosses. Adds in newer content deal more damage than they did in HW and ARR.

You should really play PLD if you haven't to better understand its ability, which you seem to lack knowledge of :l

RDM's don't require having to use veracure unless
A) Your healer is stupid
B) lack of ability to play job and can't keep up with heals or no gear
C) You purposely stand in stuff and aren't paying attention

PLD:
A) Helps healer dps (this is already a topic in itself)
B) Knows how Shield oath works with the rate at blocks/CD's + 10 points every block with the new shield oath gauge
C) Knows when and how to time both flash + clemency + sheltron

I only use vercure for three reasons, one I need to veraise someone, two if I need healing or three of the tank pullls so much and the healer is having touble keeping up.

Well everytime we must heal ourselves or raise others it is a dps loss and in turn means may not meet dps checks.
Granted myself i do have to cure myself and others from time to time as healers think we are suddenly back up heals.
Raising... it is all the damn time

I'll weave in vercure for dualcast so healers can focus on the tank more or I'll heal the tank while I verraise the healer, but my dps > your dps
