Now I that I think about it, I question how my character and others with extremely pale skin tones avoid getting a killer sunburn, moreso in places like Thanalan.

"Blessing of Hydaelyn" sunscreen
A /splash emote seems like a fun idea that I can deffinetely get behind, but I can just imagine the time it would take to code something like the OP suggests for tanning (including making sure it also works without bugs), and it makes me instantly fearful of the idea.
The ERP community would have a absolute field day with a popsicle emote though

Would rather they spent time on making swimming not-flying. Add underwater enemies, maybe a 3D element to combat where distance above/below the target is accounted for. Instead of having swimming be a complete waste of time with the swimming areas being the absolute ugliest areas in the game.
Farmers tan yes! I support this
Not to be the killjoy here, but I rather like my skincolor and dont want to be forced to buy/craft sunscreens to keep it that way.
I am however all in favor of popsicle, beachball and splash emotes.
Remember the food I mention in the first post!?...
That actually means the tanning mechanic is to be enabled through certain types of food only, your skin will not tan by itself no matter how long you stay under direct sunlight!...
I don't think it would be impossibly hard to code into the game since it already allows you to choose your skin color when creating a new character, the tanning mechanic would be like a gradient that goes from your original skin color to a darker one (tone/shade/duration depending on the food) then slowly returns back to normal!...
If the game just adds a color over the character model then it would be relatively easy to do, on the other hand, if the game makes use of a single body model x skin color then it would just swap them ... say, everyday until the skin reached the desired color and then again until it went back to the original tone/shade!...
As you can see this has no effect on anyone who don't want to use it but allows for the ones like me to have much more fun!...![]()
