Hashmal literally walked out of the raid circle and killed people in Rabanastre Raid

Details:
As the title suggests, so raid wiped everyone teleported and ran back. Didn't get to see if anyone aggroed it while in process of getting up to the line but hashmal proceeded to walk out of the designated area of the fight and was literally following someone, I don't know who but a healer in our party definitely got killed outside of the fight itself. I'm not sure if that explains it very well.

I have a feeling the reason for this is a dot, most likely Higanbana, still being active on him after the person that put it up returned to the start, causing them to generate enmity with him. I've never seen it happen with a boss before, but I have gotten chased down by trash when teleporting back to the start of the dungeon after wiping.
