I've wanted to do the stepping Stones for the longest time through my garden and to my front door but the item limit stops me. 5-10 more items would probably be perfect, but tbh I would rather them fix how gated housing in general is before thinking about increasing item limit.

Given the amount of additional items they add during events makes me think that they're overly conservative with external item limitations. I'd like to have "full plot" items too, like being able to change the grass in my garden for a meadow, then a single item pathway from the gate to the door. Two items & the garden would look even better than it can now with 20!

Certain items shouldn't count towards the limit either. I know some don't, not sure which, but the following shouldn't:

    Post box
    Gardening plots
    Aetheryte
    Chocobo Stables
    One of each level Dummy (so 1, 50, 60 & 70 IIRC).
    Wall/house glamour (chimneys etc).

Those are things that most people *need* in their gardens.

Yes please. Just ten more items would allow me a nice stepping stone path without leaving 90% of the space unused.

I don't think anything that's part of the exterior remodel window counts towards the limit.

While furnishings are limited for outside AND inside, the massive amount of interact is causing the game to have difficulties in rendering the furnishings and that kind of bothers me a lot.

They should fix this issue too.

That's good to know. I wasn't sure if it was or not. I do know that when I tried to have a chimney & 'porch' it wasn't having any of it because there was an additional limit on the amount of remodeling items that I could use. Grrrrr.

Limitation is because wards. If you raise the cap, it raises for every person in the ward, the amount of items to load when standing in outside ward area is multiplied a lot. Bigger amount will affect client performance and cause instability. You'll crash my old hamster wheel computer.

Why would you need four striking dummies in your garden? The only difference between them is the accuracy requirements (ie: a lvl 50 would miss often against a lvl 60 or 70 dummy). Other than that, the damage values against them are the same.

[edit] Here's a shot of the community myself, my husband, and a friend of ours worked on. You can see a lot, though not all, of the community from atop a hill in one corner (not visible due to the fogginess of the sky we chose: a bunch of a fancy Dominion enclave including shops/homes/restaurant/etc, a floating "college", a city made of shipping containers). It's made of 5 housing plots smushed together with a common area between them. Everything is custom built.
Wildstar housing is the bomb and what every MMO with a housing component should strive for.

At the very least, these two things should be default on every plot of land. You should be able to teleport to your house without having an aetheryte in the yard, and you should have a post box in front of your house like the Placard.
