    Rogue thought...combine Spire and Ewer?

    Been thinking about the astro deck and while I like the change to The Spear, it seems like The Ewer is suffering a bit, and The Spire a lot. Both are heavily situational, many times one will come up where it just isn't needed. The Ewer is of occasional use if casters are blasting through MP or such, but very rarely is a TP boost needed. The challenge was to think of a small change to make the cards more useful, but not overpowered and not harmful to the existing AST class balance. And I think I have something subtle enough...

    Combine the two.

    Pick one or the other. That card now offers MP and TP regen. Most classes really only use one or the other, and even on bards or such it's not really OP. It gives you more opportunities to use it as you only need to identify someone low on MP or TP in the party. The other card could then be given a completely new/different effect.

    I think this would take two rarely used cards and make one closer is value to the other four without overshadowing them, and give SE opportunity to add a new card effect to the mix. Thoughts?

    Spire is already probably going to change into the "Direct Hit Card".

    The MP card is useful enough in certain situations to keep and you're going to need something you want to turn into AOE RR.

    Exactly. But in this case the Ewer would do everything it currently does and gain the ability to do what the Spire does. No more drawing Spires when people are in dire need of MP, and no more pulling Ewers that one rare time someone is actually low/out of TP. It wouldn't really unbalance the power of the card, it would just increase the number of situations it would be useful in. I want all the cards to be useful both in their own right, and burned, so I have choices each draw. Ideally, a card should never be just useful burned. Had enough of that with The Spear until recently.

    I actually mentioned this once before in a previous post. Combing the current Spire and Ewer cards and creating a new one to fill the gap would be absolutely awesome. In a perfect world the new Spire Card could be a permanent buff that extends the duration of the next card effect received by 20 seconds and increases its potency by 50%. This way if you spread it you get an extra 10 seconds and 25% potency on your next card to everyone. I imagine this card would still be able to create the expanded Royal Road effect like the current Spire but its usefulness would be equally amazing if you burn it, use it single target or spread it. Building up an expanded Balance for the party to use that already has been fortified with Spire during a tight DPS check would be incredibly satisfying and difficult to manage given the randomness of draws. This card would also help two Astros from fighting each other with their cards. Instead of overwriting each other they could work together to create more powerful card effects for the whole party.

    I mean Ive used ewer a lot. Both for myself or a fellow healer. But Ive never used a spire card. and ive been an astro main since they came out. The card needs to be changed to something actually useful. Or it can stay as the rr target it is lol

    While it sounds awesome, I hope it never will.
    Balancing Balance to 5% again and giving Crit on Spear was a good answer and now healers looks approximatively balanced, at least, the best we had these past month.
    A Direct Hit Card could dig a new gap between WHM and Astrologian and I don't want a new war again.
