I'm pretty sure the forums won't let you post if you haven't been logged into XIV for 30 days, unless they've changed it. Being able to read only is fine--it's probably more frustrating to the ones that want to reply SO BADLY and can't. That's fine with me. The problem is that the forum has an unusual measure of 30 days (i.e. wouldn't let me on after I'd been playing for a week).
