Suggestion: Let players upgrade their houses/apartments with achievement points

Just a thought... All the houses in new wards start out small. Same with apartments. But through achievement points (or FC credits if it's for an FC), you can upgrade. This has several benefits:

    - It cuts back on the one-man FCs trying to score housing. A large upgrade could be a million credits -- easy enough for FCs to attain if they work together.

    - It takes gil out of the equation so all of those stupid RMT bots get nothing.

    - It prevents people buying up a whole ward. I've been playing for nearly 4 years and I have something like 7,000 achievement points. If you could upgrade your house to a medium for something like 5,000 points, it shows that you worked for it. This also prevents the creation and auto-leveling of alts just to score a house.

    - Apartments would start as they are now, but could be upgraded to two and three floors respectively, in the same way. At two floors, you get an instanced courtyard where you can garden too.

    Looking forward to your thoughts!

So basically a system that favors seniority

A million credits? I think my FC has 4 times that and we have only 30 people

Achievements? Lots of achievements in this game just require grinding (i.e., kill 1 million mobs or something), so veterans have a leg-up.

And I don't understand how this upgrade is supposed to occur? Are we talking about instance housing? If so, why bother with this system at all? If not, we are back to the same issue. I can assure you that, even for 1 million FC credits, the houses will be gone in 5 minutes.

They'd still have to re-adjust all the wards so the plots are large from the get go. Views and such would be completely altered from larger buildings too. They would also have to automatically refund achievement points if your house got auto demolished since achievement points are limited.

I can see it would eliminate the RMT aspect housing often has. But it would create other problems instead. It would be a system that rewards only long time players and on some servers even that prerequisite wouldn't prevent all plots being bought in less than an hour. Legacy servers would suffer immensely from this. Never mind how this would drive some players to quit as they have no chance to compete against players who have several years more game time than they have.
