Where does a new raider look for a static?

Everybody seems to want people who have cleared every previous content pre echo/has years of raiding experience or is in the top 10% on FFlogs.

So how do new people get into raiding? has it really become a closed circle, no new blood allowed?

I've been looking for a static almost since Omega Savage came out and the best I've managed is to clear O1 and O2 and O3 till animal farm while filling in as off tank.

I wish more people were willing to teach new raiders.

its just one of those its just late in the patch cycle things, at this point even if you found a static it might not be a good fit, I joined a static the other week and it wasnt a good fit I felt more comfy with pugs. Id say ask around on discord, if you dont care about chest and just want to clear ask friends you know whom have cleared already to help you. Id say if you stall out on three, next expansion youd have a fresh start and you would have experience to put down.

Typically you will advertise yourself (PF or Linkshells if appropriate to the matter) or watch PF for statics needing a slot filled. Just be sure to notate your time zone and day/times available.

If you use Reddit there is a subreddit for recruitment r/ffxivrecruitment and also I would suggest posting on the community pages for your server. When I need to fill a spot for my group I scour the reddit page and also look through every community page for the servers in our datacenter since our static is cross world. You can advertise yourself and you will also see people advertising if they have a spot they need to fill.

Edit to add: Also look for Casual or Midcore groups- the type of groups you are describing sound more like hardcore raiding groups that are not necessarily suited to a brand new raider. If thats something you want to do you can move into a group like that after getting some raid experience

Yeah I'm on Coerl and was told raiding is dead on Coerl so any static would have to be cross world.

I also am only looking for Casual to midcore statics because I don't like the prevailing hardcore attitudes.

I want to raid for fun and do it with a laid back easygoing group who's ok with not immediately clearing everything.

You can advertise yourself on reddit's recruitment section here or join a recruitment discord and look through the available statics seeking members.

Use reddit, advertise in game using PF, use the community thread for your server on here. Ask friends hell, even shouting (not recommended. Only to avoid being flagged a spammer) But it's hard. I should pug myself because I don't have a static and I want to get in there though going with a blank slate and creating a pug haha will be rough. Oh well. Do what you gotta do. Good luck to you though! I hope you find a good fit that you are happy with. A good enjoyable static to do things with makes this game so much more memorable and enjoyable.
