Talking in Linkshell

For some reason I have been unable to talk in LS chat the last few times I've logged on. Relogging does not fix the issue. I couldn't seem to find anything in the game configuration and I can talk in /tells /shout/ and /say easily enough. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this and know how to fix it?

Probably check your log settings. You might have linkshell chat off.

I'll check, but I can still see everyone else talking in LS, I just can't talk. Thought if you turned off LS chat you couldn't see any of it.

make sure you have the linkshell "active"
menu > linkshell > highlight > enter key

I know there was a time when the servers were acting up and everyone's LS chats were acting weird. Maybe server related? Just a shot in the dark, have you had any strange LS disconnect glitches involving LS leaders.

Hmm, I suppose a LS leader glitch could be happening. Some additional info on what is going on:

When I try to equip a linkpearl, I can't actually act as if I have a pearl equipped. By which I mean I can't display all members or any of the other options you get when you select your currently equipped LS in the linkshell menu. It seems to be behaving as if I don't have a LS at all.

I'm tempted to just create a new LS to see if that will fix the problem. If that doesn't do it, I'm going to report a bug. It is incredibly inconvenient not to be able to communicate in LS chat.

Have you tried a different LS, if its just a problem with your LS then maybe contact a GM see if they can help (they helped me once with a wierd problem)

This is an ingame bug. Happened to me a few times and to others I know. Normally reloging fixes it. Try shuting your client down and then loging back in. If that does not fix it then you might need to reinstall the game. And if that does not work then idk what to tell ya.

If it's a bug I think it is if you go to a different zone like right outside Ul'dah or something and relog there it should fix it.
