Flawed thinking. I have a serious inventory problem, just no money to pay extra sub fee just to have extra retainers.I remember reading some time ago that SE's answer when some people asked for more retainers was that most players do not have any more than the two retainers we all get for free, so they were not planning on letting us hire more retainers.
Or in other words: Most players do not have serious inventory problem.
If this would be true, than why is there so much overload on server bc of inventory? After the +40 inventory space bonus Yoshi sayd they cant add more free space bc of the overload on the servers are too big. So man can argue bc of the glamours (mostly) and craft/gath. Or SE lied to us lol.Inventory and retainers do indeed overflow if one keeps everything and hoards it "just in case".
If one doesn't do that and instead just keeps the stuff you really need or expect to need within the next few days, then inventory issues practically disappear.

Only a few, those who are much into both crafting and glamours (or just hoarders on general principles) have serious problems with inventory space.
Personally I do belong to this group and would love to have more space, but on the other hand I realise could probably throw away half of what I have stored and not really miss it so the problem might not lie with the game as such.
(I always tend to end up with full inventories in all other games as well....)
Im talking about "general idea" of what SE thinks how they solve the issues. Just brute force. I know not even with 100 vendors would solve the problem. Bad game design.

One of the best things that happened in World of Warcraft would make things insanely easier over here as well.
They introduced a Wardrobe that would keep track of gear you've acquired that has a unique look/recolor. You'd visit a vendor to do the transmog (you have to use a vendor and pay gold instead of prisms), select your item you want to set as the appearance and you're done.
Once you acquired a specific look, it would get saved to your Wardrobe and you could delete it with no risk of losing that look.

You can buy it from a vendor NPC in the housing wards
1 Althyk Lavender -> 4 Hardsilver Ores
The item bloat is incredibly real like you mentioned. If they're not going to implement a separate material bank (like in GW2 - all materials go there with a large stack amount), they need to start condensing what we do have. Also, stop will all the random tokens and currencies if you're not going to put them in the currency tab.
Which ones are we talking here? The primal ones, and special FATE ones, don't, but everything else does, doesn't it?The item bloat is incredibly real like you mentioned. Also, stop will all the random tokens and currencies if you're not going to put them in the currency tab.
Anything that can be given to an npc in exchange for something else is a currency, unless we're talking quest items or things like armor exchanges/upgrades. This includes things consumed as part of game system process, like glamouring, repairing and melding. Besides the things you mentioned, there's a ton of currencies that have yet to be added:
glamour prisms
raid tokens (gears, shafts, coins and like)
centurio books of all types
items like cracked clusters
those things you use for repair and materia melding
materia themselves
atheryte tickets
those amber things
crafted items that serve no purpose but to be turned into a vendor also count
Some of these things admittedly do seem silly to put in the currency tab, esp if they have limited use. But in those cases, I submit that it would have been better to simply have never created the need for those items to begin with. We never needed 5 grades of 8 types of glamour prisms. And even though SE walked that back eventually, they should have never done it in the first place and they still haven't gone far enough (it should have been reduced to a single consumable, or just a plain gil cost). And they continue this mentality instead of learning from it. Look at how many currencies were just added with the latest patch, when none of them really need to exist.
If we had unlimited inventory space that's one thing. But with the game inventory so limited, creating a million reasons to fill it up is just self-defeating.
