You cannot be an omicrafter on one character, you need at LEAST! 3, so having 3 retainers x 3 = 9 + having 300 slots (now 410) then a single character would have. (I say at least 3 because some chose to have battle, then 3 crafters to cover all the spec/ desyth,)

I'm going to stop you right there and say that ever since red scrips were uncapped you do not need 3 characters to be an omnicrafter. In fact, you never have. In fact, I wouldn't say having access to specific specialists is a requirement for being an omnicrafter. Get your head out of your ass.

As for desynths, I don't know of a single person who feels the need to cover every desynthesis skill.
