That's not a relic system. That's utter rng. Relic is grind based. I ran the ARF twice, I got an Umbrite for my anima. With this system I could give up my life and grind for hundreds of hours for absolutely nothing, while someone else runs one raid, wins the drop, and *boom*, house.

Rng has never been my friend, I'm sorry this is a terrible idea as others have said. I could however see them adding rare housing items to the last bosses chest that would be cool. Im one of theen lucky ones who woke up 2 hours early and spammed the loggin button when the servers came up and got a house tho so I'm not in that situation. Plus helps to be on a lower pop server.

Players have to play the game to be able to meet the prerequisites to buy a house anyway. FFXIV doesn't have an issue with players not playing enough. Seems you're trying to fix an additional issue that doesn't even exist.

Also your suggestion literally ignores the real housing problem: there aren't enough houses. What would happen if a player won a housing slip after all the plots are taken?

I don't know why people think lottery is fair. Lottery by definition is not fair. You win purely based on participation and luck, not because you deserve the winnings.
