Being locked out of the game

The issue is that my girlfriend, whose previous laptop bit the dust is trying to get the game back and we ran into this problem. All logins and information that she has is on the other laptop and after trying to log in. The game has locked her out. Neither of us knows what the email is, let alone the login and neither of us is able to access her account to even see. So how do you resolve this without having access to the email?

Give SE a call, but they're going to ask for private info on the account to confirm its you... e.g., DOB, security question's answer, etc. (And next time... don't use a throwaway email ~.^)

Contact SE customer support. Needless to say, the odds of recovery seems pretty slim if you can't even remember emails, logins, and passwords. They may have other means to verify your account via credit card used, etc.

The original post is a little confusing because he said they tried to log in, which triggered the lockout (which is completely normal if you don't use one time passwords). So... they should remember the account name and password, at least. But then the next part of that paragraph does kind of read like they don't...

It's also odd to me that she apparently has several emails but either won't check them or can't remember the logins to them. So... yeah, for important stuff, don't use throwaway emails. Among other things, account recovery becomes a lot harder.

I had this problem about a week ago where I changed ISPs and forgot to update my email on my SE account and got locked out.

Chat support fixed it in 5 min but I did need to know my account ID, and they will ask you personal info such as date of birth, registered e-mail (even if you can no longer access the email) and address. They will change your email on file for you, but you must still reset your password, and for that, you will need to be able to answer your security questions, so lets hope you didn't put down bogus answers here like some people do.
