Paying for clears is on the same level as paying a crafter to do something for you because you can't/won't do it.

Buying a clear is no less "legit" then going in normally and being carried by better players. In fact, the carried people might be less legit because some of them lie about how experienced they are to get their foot in the door. So im with the others saying that this isnt a problem. Im also in the camp of "id rather not spend my money on it and ill finish the content when im good and geared enough to".
I've never bought a clear but I've helped sell one once.
Its not cheating or RMT. If someone has the skills to 7man content and help someone else through that would otherwise not be able to whatever, let them.
My only complain about this is to put terrible players at farm parties to lose everyone's time.
But not all the terrible players bought their clears. Some of them got lucky with a carry. A lot of them dont even realize that they ARE terrible players. I know ive been in more then a couple groups where the person making all the mistakes is also the one complaining about how poorly the group is doing.
I agree here. The fact that a terrible player now has the guise of a clear to join PF groups and such is a misleading truth. It's like when people felt the sky was falling because of level boosts or easier/faster ways to level in general. But not all the terrible players bought their clears. There is truth to it, but it doesn't actually mean or do anything of importance. Singling out terrible players in regards to selling clears is an attempt to imply that terrible players are unique to this method. That it's special and noteworthy somehow, as it would have to mean they do not exist outside of it. Otherwise, if they would exist to the same capacity outside of buying a clear, what's the point of singling it out? More sky is falling responses if that's the case.
The rmt comparison apply just for the part "until there is who pays, there will be who sells", but this is not rmt. I'll never give a gil to them, but as I see how much people wants be carried and how much I see in full 340 and still clueless at things, I'm not impressed.
You have to understand, run selling is what a mercenary in a fantasy world would and could do to make a living. Those that want/ need the protection but can't defend themselves have every opportunity to level the roles that are always more in need. Choosing to level a job that is a dime a dozen is your choice to make as is the wait when finding yourself in que times bloated by DPS's.
i once asked the price of a wolf , lakshmi or susana i dont remember ( the white one ) , the price announced was 70M ..... i thought it was a joke , but it seems people are ok to pay this price ....poor humanity
seriously i expected something like 5M , but even the leviathan poney is more expensive ( 12M LOL )
