When people write clear xy needed, then they don't mean the kill itself in the first line. They request a specific level of skill and experience

Selling runs will never affect game balance.

Just looking at the prices (and the new coil will be over 100kk on Odin for sure), you don't really expect that the most of this Gil is gained without RMT. Most people who don't have the time to raid, also don't have the time to get this amount of Gil.

RMT Gil affect the game balance. Buying kills with RMT Gil do the same.

I used to sell runs back in 2.0 alot. Clears were required to get to the next raid tier. Although that business wasn't as good as selling EX fights. Sold so many ponies to people who didn't want to deal with rolling against other people. It's just like buying an item off the mb at the end of the day. And my group used the gil to buy food pots and crafted armor for the newest tiers.

While I neither sell or buy runs ti's not against the TOS nor should it be. If a raid group or fc or linkshell is good enough to carry people why not sell? How is this in any way worse than SE selling jump potions? Jump potions provide the same service (getting things done without having to put in the effort) on a much larger scale than a run seller. If you don't like the practice simply don't buy a run.

I hate it, but, it's not at all against ToS.

Technically, it's not much different from me taking newbie FC members into content I've cleared. They get a faster queue and clear, I get newbie bonuses and a WT reroll point.

But, it just comes off a bit skeevier since you advertise content carries and players a can make millions doing it.

There was also an underlying concern with this in ARR days (where selling clears was EVERYWHERE) that it encouraged RMT buying since players who, for one reason or another, couldn't complete content suddenly had something the felt obligated to spend mass gil on. So, they bought gil and bought the win.

It may seem questionable on the outside, but if people are that desperate to trade their shame for clears, why not? Some care about doing things legit, while others could care less. Their end goal is to keep moving forward as quickly as possible for any number of reasons. Some folks also can be in fc's that don't/can't help. Statics are another beast altogether.

I had no end of trouble getting the main story completed i.e. = Royal Menagery . That i was ready to pay for a carry there so i could just finish the main story line.
And yes , i would be the first to say I suck in that type of content.

Guys I wasnt tryin to downplay anyone. Trying to understand really. I guess from MY perspective its pretty ridiculous when I have like 120k on average. It IS their gil I get that much. But personally I wouldn’t have a sense of accomplishment after the clear, AND my pockets would probably be empty.

I don't think anyone is upset with you More the person who tried to link selling runs to RMT. I think most people are probably content clearing content on their own, but there definitely a lot of good reasons as to why someone may buy a clear or loot.

I'm currently facing this dilemma in XI. My gear progression is at a standstill because I need to kill3 bosses from some of the new(er) group content. I play mostly solo in that game and have no way to clear them on my own. Only need a single kill, then I can continue on my merry way and never touch them again. So yeah, I'd happily pay a group at this point. Any mercs here on Asura? lol D:

From a canon standpoint, adventurers are a form of sell-sword, so you can even say they're only doing their jobs

some people can't put in the time to gather competent party members and don't have ingame friends to fill in. Some people don't have time to run things over and over to get it right. Some people just want to watch the story unfold or get the gear and be done with it. Some people just want it checked off and don't care how that gets done.

People have all kinds of reasons and considering this affects everyone else very near to nothing, i don't see a problem with it. People like that don't dutyfinder often and will quit early if the run doesn't go well, so they aren't a huge factor.
