Wow. So the new gear only results in a gain of 4 CP over the old? That's... surprising. It "just" adds a ton of Craft/Control?

(Edit)Answering my own question, Ariyala saves the day! http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/13SLQ
So yeah, upgrade to i320 from i290 nets you 4 CP but a quite a lot of additional Craftsmanship and Control. So much gear catch up to play... Le sigh...

That's because we only got new left side. If we cost 320 accessories should have a cap of 64 cp on earring/neck/bracelet and 33 on the rings and 8 on the belt, that would be a total increase of 17 cp, not much but more noticeable.

Hi! I leveled my crafters with leves and easy collectibles. As a result, I don’t understand crafting at all. I’ve been working my farms for cloudsbreath seeds to craft the flying chair. Until tonight when I noticed the difficulty is a whopping 11337. What kind of rotation is needed to craft this thing and should I upgrade my gear before even attempting? I have all HQ crafted 4.0 gear(my melds are messed up too) nothing from scrips or 4.1.

I’d really appreciate some help, even though I don’t think this is the right thread to ask in.

The Basic TL;DR is to use Muscle Memory and then spam Piece By Piece until using Ing2 Rapid Synthesis 2 is better to finish it off. Just make sure you don't accidentally break the craft!

You can use a rotation similar to this for all high Progress non-HQ recipes, just adjust how many PbP and Rapid Synthesis you need to use.

Hey Taylor for the "balanced melding idea" ariyala link you posted to fulfill both of the rotations posted on the first page, did you mean to select Tempura instead of Seafood since the latter will result in -4CP with both of the rotations?

I just got to 70 crafting with ll my crafters recently, first time I've made it to end game crafting. I've been looking to try and get to the ability to craft 320+ gear. I did fin a couple link to pentameld the 290 gear to get me to the point I could start them. I'm a little confused on the rotations in the original post though. If I pentameld my 290 gear with what I found, I'd end up at 1396 craftsmanship, 1282 control and 469 CP without food. So I'm wondering if that's a good starting point to be able to make the 320+ gear. If so, how does the rotations in the original post work or need tweaked for that. I'm assuming I'd need mostly HQ materials for the crafts with the 290 gear

First of all, congratulations on all-70! \o/

Secondly, this thread was created for special 2 star rotations. If you're a fresh all-70, you may wanna practice on regular 2 star rotations first though. Below are a very good collection of 2 star rotations from some very talented crafters on this forum:

    Katlyna:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...rafting-Macros
    Evian:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ial-for-100-HQ.)
    Taylor1480:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ls)-Specialist

The 320+ gear you seek are Special 2 star recipes. They're significantly harder than regular 2 star recipes. Taylor has some very neat special 2 star rotations, which he/she put into this thread here, and the following thread too:
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...Non-RNG-macros

I have also a modified version of Taylor's rotation in Chapter 60 of my crafting guide (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...VBoHPkJE/edit#). But these rotations are "Initial Prep Rotations", so it is assumed that you are crafting i320 while wearing fully melded i320.

So how do you craft i320 with 1396/1282/469? You will need to use the "Maker's Mark Rotation" (MaMa Rotation). It's been out there for awhile. I'm not the one who invented it. But I have my own version written step-by-step in Ch60 of my crafting guide in full details. Of course, a little bit of HQ mat will help with this rotation. But since you're making Snailfish Oil/Ala Mhigan Fiber first. You could potentially test your luck using pure NQ mats on these items first. If you succeed, that's great. If you fail, it's no big deal. As long as you use HQ mat for the rest of your final product, you should be fine. If you still need even more CP for it, try activate Whistle While You Work, which allows you to pump some extra CP from Satisfactions. Good luck!

That's all good info. thanks for the help. probably already answered but another noobish question: are the cross class skill the same regardless of doing the starting 320 items or the more difficult 320 items? I'm not sure I have my cross class abilities set up right. Also I see the images of some sort of simulator being used but I don't think I found the right one since it doesn't seem to put things together as you guys have. maybe it's just a noob thing for me but a little confused

There are different approaches to the 2 star crafts, each using some of the same cross class moves, and each using a few different cross class moves. The longest, yet easiest to do stat-wise, is the old Rath’s Rotation, which uses Maker’s Mark and a ton of Flawless Synthesis.

One that requires higher stats, yet is faster, is the Muscle Memory rotation.

And there’s a specialist-only rotation that involves Initial Preparations, and the Specialist moves that it enables, which I believe (but could be wrong, as I don’t dabble with Specialist moves) takes even higher stats than the Muscle Memory.

All will use Comfort Zone, Ingenuity, and a few other cross class moves, in addition to their rotation-specific choices.

Hi all, a little late to the party but finally crafted and melded my 4.1 gear. I've melded to 1500 Craft / 1450 Con using NQ (vendor) Tempura, or 1520/1470 with specialist. Using HQ food and adding HQ tea pushes to these stats.

I know the best rotations will depend on people's individual stats, but I thought I'd share my approach to add to the general knowledge base. Fits neatly into 2 macros!

PS: drgnmstr44, the current simulator is at https://ermad.github.io/ffxiv-craft-...pp/#/simulator
