Thread: In Regard to Housing in Patch 4.1

Ok, I have been pretty vocal with people in regards to the housing issues and defending the system for the most part, so here is the main thing I would like to see changed possibly and I think it would help. Again, if others have mentioned this I have not seen it. How about when players or FC's relinquish or relocate, they get the original cost back in full, or relocating the entire purchase goes towards the new plot? This way no one would ever feel like they lost gil or wasted time, and wouldn't be forced to sell to someone before game fee just to recoup some gil. Any thoughts about this? Seems way easier than most fixes. Do this and add more wards. Also, then the plot would still be up for grabs naturally.

I honestly think that would probably be even worse. People would just continue to try and sell their houses AND get paid when they transfer/relinquished. Housing is also supposed to be a gil sink and it's bad enough they now give back 80% for demolitions, but giving back the full cost would completely remove this much needed gil sink. We have many things that add money into the economy, but very few actually taking money back out.

Yes I could see that potentially. To me it sounds like you're somewhat ok with they way housing is setup then? I agree with the gil going in and out, and that's why i think overpaying for housing is NBD, cause what else should you be spending your hundreds of millions of gil on?

The way I see in this system to defend is very slim and it shows no justification in people hogging houses and selling it for ridiculous prices. If people don't want to use that house, then just let people have who really want it.

If you want to sell it only for resale price to have it back, i'll understand. But to sell it for 200-500m on a large, then 30-50 for small and 80-150m for medium is like definitely showing the way of people being more greedier than it needs to. That's why housing system in this cannot be defended whatsoever.

Just because they don't use it doesn't mean they don't want it. And maybe they are using it, just differently than most would. There are tons of ppl using houses that people think aren't getting used. JB there isn't 10 trees and ponds in the yard doesn't mean they aren't using it. If the people " who really wanted " houses wanted them as bad as you thiunk, they'd have one.

While I wouldn't call it sympathy for flippers, their existence beats the alternative - only people who play the 4am Tuesday login lottery having houses.

That is completely false. The auto demos are not active, and when they are, they auto demo every hour on the hour. Not once a week.
