In Regard to Housing in Patch 4.1

You get one house per account. Allow alts to share housing and resources. I really don't understand why there is such a draconian restriction on friending and sharing between your own characters.

I assume it has to do with why we can't friends list ourselves, or mail ourselves things. Coding issues, I guess?

That was my point. There should be no restrictions on friending my own characters or mailing my own characters or having multiple "my own characters" share a house. Someone, somewhere, for some reason, made a specific design decision to not allow it. The only coding "issue" would be: If characterA and characterB belong to same account then allow.

Back at the start of 2.0 you actually used to be able to friend yourself. Sort of. If one of your characters was in an instance and you disconnected, you could log on to a second character and send the first a friend request. When you got back on the first character (and exited from the instance) you would then receive the request and be able to accept it.

However, SE patched that, so it is clearly something they don't want by design (for unknown reasons) instead of being a technical reason.

I have no idea if they removed those "friends" from the list of anyone who did that though, I didn't have an alt at the time to benefit

Not housing specifically but they really need to overhaul gardening.

One patch per small, two for a med, three for a large is extremely limiting especially when crossbreeding.. Same thing with seeds and soil.

Some players own multiple houses for gardening specifically. If they allow me to get the exact amount of gil i spent on my plots returned to me and allow me to garden without the need of a house I would actually relinquish my houses.

Nah lets have limited houses, limited gardens, limited airships, zero acess to player owned music outside a house, Limted space for fc items ect.

If gardening and airships were unlimited to how you'd like them, then the items that you're gardening or airshipping FOR, would be devalued.

I never said unlimited anywhere... I simply said it was extremely limited, which is why some of us own more than one plot.
