I cannot get behind "rent" on a house. the purchase is already pretty high in some cases.
but like many have said "1 house/1 acct/ all your characters share ownership per world" is something I would stand behind.

a reasonable rent (more like 10-100k, though this is subjective to your servers economy) deductible from an in game bank.. or your primary retainers held money so you can fill it for long away time I can get behind.
Large/med houses for FC only? Sorry no, I have bigger aspirations for decoration than the small house can accommodate.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

I personally believe that, with the auto-demolish policy active, only honest active players will be punished should there be a rent (especially if it will be costly) system added. Those who can afford multiple houses obvious have access to RMT trades, therefore gil isn't an issue. For casual players, like me, who simply enjoy socializing and hanging out with friends, may have difficulty to regularly gather enough gils for the rent (call me lazy if you will, but this is one of the main reasons I remained subscribed for almost over 4 years without pause). Moreover, there are negative feedback from active players who continued to pay real money to extend their subscriptions in order to prevent their houses becoming demolished, despite the lack of playable content between major patches.
Of course, for house monopolizers, they simply do quick log-ins with their alts, pay the rent with RMT gils, log-off, and it would be business as usual for them.

Instanced housing is an awful idea.
Rent is an awful idea.
A patch solely focused on housing is an awful idea.
Can you just stop?

Yes to instanced housing, no to everything else.
I bought my Large back when housing was sort of new, I paid like 90m for it (From the server, when prices were much higher for a plot). All legit earned through crafting/marketboard over about 6 months. Don't take that away from me, don't make me pay more per month. I use it more for me/my friends than a lot of FCs I know of. Some have 90+ members but they're mostly alts or people that quit the game back in early 3.x.
Yea this is a great point. If you make changes to make things easier for others, you're going to be screwing over a lot of hard work players put in for years. Probably cause more damage hurting hard core subscribers as opposed to helping new ones.Yes to instanced housing, no to everything else.

Imagine all the retroactive heartache to the people who have spent all this time and money for housing only to see it extremely mitigated because people are entitled to things for little to no work.
Can people please stop to always give bad ideas related to pay always more and more for everything in this game (cash shop or paying rents for housing for example).
Apartments are instancied without any rents or even demolition timers and it's good like this so they should do the same for houses (small size to buy and then you would be able to upgrade the size to M or L by buying expension permit like the housing permit to buid the house which is already in the game). Housing is a feature of the game that everyone should be able to enjoy and installing monthly rents is definitively a bad move imo.
Everyone should enjoy it, just like the game. But just like the game, you are rewarded for your time and effort. Everyone should be able to enjoy it, if they put in the effort required relative to others that want to enjoy it as well. Can people please stop to always give bad ideas related to pay always more and more for everything in this game (cash shop or paying rents for housing for example).

Okay, I hear you and you make some good points... but what if... hear me out... What if we make houses cost a monthly fee on the mog station! You know, something the average player can afford. Like $50.
