The problem I see with tying subscription time to the demo timer is that it'd be a great way to ensure that house flipping is still a thing. As it stands, a flipper has to build a house on the plot and enter it at least once every 45 days. If they didn't have to do that, it's simply a matter of jacking up the price every month and continuing to hold onto prime real estate until a whale comes along and buys it.

There was a plot for sale for yen on Chocobo not too long ago. 60,000 yen. That's a little over $500 USD. A flipper has quite some time to make a profit if their demo timer is tied to their subscription. At least with the current setup, they've got to maintain some kind of house and do a little work. (Maybe they should have to do more?)
