I understand your salt, I'm there with you. I wanted a house for my Free Company and I was unable to get one. I hear stories though of people harassing those who DID manage to get housing in Shirogane and it's just ugly. Please manage your spite, rein in your envy and plead with SE for the solution. Unless they're trying to advertise their plot for resale (against TOS) they have every right to it as you do.

Aim your angst where it belongs, at the producer who underestimated the demand and didn't resolve an issue that has been talked about for over a year.

I only saw people angry with immediate resellers - for the most part I bet, gil seller/buyers.
If someone managed to get a plot in shirogane for their own housing enjoyment there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I've heard several friends being called out for buying houses/asking if they will even use them.. rather accusatory, and that shit isn't ok.. sure there will be people like that around, but the vast majority are people that got lucky, while we didn't.. because of, as Eva said. A bad system.

They're not the targets, the system should be. And for the love of Rhalgr, if you do see a gold seller, don't act hostile, don't contact them, just report them, and don't let them know they are reported so they can try to hide their activities

Ungrateful house flippers (those who buy a house only to try and sell it at 10x the cost) can get reported banned and set on fire. There is a special place in one of the seven hells for your lot. >

Everyone else is either silent because they don't care or up in arms as it is now more painfully obvious than ever that the housing system is not gonna cut it anymore. Changes must be done!

I feel you. On the other hand, everyone who tells the unlucky 80pct of the player base who doesn't have and can't get a house to "get over it" earn and deserve my disdain. Call me and the other thousands "salty" or whatever derogatory name you want.

I'm really happy I got my house and that my FC got to upgrade and I'm really sorry to the people who didn't get one and wanted one. I really had to think twice if I actually wanted a personal residence, but then my FC was trying to get a large that we could all have a hand in creating and that didn't happen. We ended up with a medium and two neighboring personal smalls instead. It's probably our gain and the community's loss.

I feel kinda like the birds in that cartoon where they're all pooping on each other, with the one bird on top grinning wickedly and the two birds in the middling being crapped on and the four below that just taking everything from everyone above them. So I'm not really sorry enough to give it up no matter how many sour grapes or how much saltiness there may be. It just doesn't feel 100% right and I have to acknowledge that yeah, it probably could have been implemented better.

Well I imagine most people that actually got a house are busy with them atm rather than browsing the forums. People that didn't get a house however are angry and frustrated and need a place where they can vent, aswell as getting heard. The official forums would be the best bet for them. Any positive talk about housing the new couple of days would just be salt in the wound.

we don't hate the FC's that managed to get houses infact we are incredably happy for them as they have probably waiting if not months then years and we know how they must have felt trying to get one before hand. We do however hate those that bought them just to immediately sell them for extortionate prices and alot of the time scam folks and not actually give them the plot after reciving the money. The housing system as is stops alot of FC's from doing content gated by the need for workshops and airships.
if it wer eup to me all houses would be reserved for FC's of at least level 6 and above leaving the apartments for personal use and of course consistantly add a new ward to each of the housing areas every so often. but we know that will never happen.

I can understand their pain. And your post was way to soon. But even then those crying out have a legitimate complaint. The state of acquiring housing in FFXIV is atrocious. Has been from the inception of the system. And to many the apartment add-on is just a slap in the face. Apartment and house are not equal.
