Sujet : So wait I csnt even upgrade my weapon til 4.2

I'm at a loss why can u only upgrade gear with the 24 man. This is my first real expansion cycle so I'm a bit shocked. What good would a 340 weapon be in 4.2. I just don't understand. I had been waiting on this upgrade to seriously try to prog v3s. I don't get this logic at all a 340 weapon in 4.2 would be totally pointless.

You can upgrade with the raid as well, which has been out since 4.0

I know it's been out why do u think I'd even want a 340. Not to do dungeons with, I just wanted it for v3s prog as I already mentioned. I never been apart of this , starting patch stuff so I didnt know

Well then, just so you know, O3S was designed to be clearable without the items it drops, so you don't need i340 to obtain the upgrade item for i340.

You don't need an i340 weapon to beat it since the reward for that fight is the upgrade item to MAKE it 340. It's perfectly beatable with an i330 or even 320 if you know what you're doing.

I’d like to chime in here…for the purposes of the information I see here, you can clear it with a 330 weapon or even a 320. I went in as AST with my 320 weapon with a clear party and we did it just fine. If you’re going in on WHM, it won’t matter if you have 320 or 345…it is still a very healer intensive fight for us with all the mechanics going out at once. You just have to make sure to essentially use all of your cooldowns as appropriate…with O3S, the mechanics are going to wipe a party more often than a lack of heals.
