Thread: Ivalice and Hydaelyn revisited (Patch 4.1 spoilers)

It's not, as we;ve been saying repeatedly - the 'Ivalice' in Hydaelyn is simply a name reference used for a long dead nation that has zero connection to the FFT/FFXII version. It and other FFT/XII names and references are just that, names and references that have been reused with actual connection to the original. Just like Crystal Tower not being FFIII's final dungeon or Costa del Sol and Gold Saucer are not the FFVII places somehow transplanted into Eorzea. This is in keeping with comments SE made ages ago on the subject which well and truly puts the final nail in that coffin:

Nothing that I've seen with the new raid contradicts this - they're just name and concepts that are fanservice references to FFT and XII but are fully within FFXIV's lore and thus have no actual connection to FFT and XII at all.

Even when multiple developers and writers, including Matsuno himself, have gone on record stating that Hydaelyn and Ivalice do not share a direct connection, some people are just too obsessed to believe one doesn't exist. I don't get it, and have given up trying to convince them otherwise.
