    A theory about Au Ra

So, it is generally accepted that Miqo’te are cat people, and Au Ra are lizard people, right? This has always kind of bugged me. While it’s true that scales are generally more of a reptile thing, Au Ra have several decidedly mammalian traits, like hair and breasts.

So, I’d like to propose to you my theory: Au Ra are pangolin people. If you don’t know what a pangolin is, they're basically scaly ant-eaters. Here’s a picture:

Look at those scales! So far as I know, the most developed scales on any mammal. Also worthy of note, is that male pangolins can be as much as 50% larger than the females. Sound familiar?

They're tieflings, descendants of human/demon breeding. I'll probably get a few people who jump in here screaming about dragons and dragon expansions, and I ask them

Where are the Au Ra eggs

    in before zootoca

Pretty sure SE also stated that they're not dragon people, that was a misconception Ishgardians had when they saw them.

Alexander's story explains their origin. If I recall hearing correctly it was something to do with daemons/the void.

It doesn't. It explains the origin of one of their tribes, but not the race as a whole.

It's known that their design borrows both draconic and demonic elements, but nothing has been stated lorewise that even hints at a connection between them and dragons or voidsent.

I'm curious as if/when that third ancient clan of Au Ra that was mentioned in a lore panel will ever come into play, since if the race's origins are anything significant, they'd play a key role in that.
