    Feedback on squadron tank AI

    It's a decent start but there's some room for improvement. I think one of my NPCs using shadowflare right on pulls might throw it off a bit.

    Anyways, I've noticed the tank AI doesn't quite establish aoe enmity fast enough and once he chases down the mob that goes for my arcanist or his carbuncle, it becomes a mosh pit. I would suggest:
    1. having the tank flash as it does the run through part.
    2. once hate is established on all attacking mobs, do another position check and attempt to avoid mobs facing the party and mosh pit positioning.

    It does feel like there's something off about the AI.

    It also takes no account of things like the poison dragon getting healed if it's in the toxic puddles. I shouldn't have to hit Disengage every time the boss uses toxic vomit, that happens way too often for it to be reasonable.

    they seem totally fine to me, sometimes happen when a ranged has a no cast action (arc, cnj's aero, etc) he gets aggro but then tank oftens ultimate > goes on an (almost always) optimal position then over power or flash and gg problem solved

    Yeah, my archer is pretty good at holding aggro from bosses, but in a larger group he falters and the GLD takes over.

    It still needs a bit of work!

    Its a good start. And you can manually tell them to engage the targets if they lose aggro. I assume that once they learn the defensive style it may get better. But honestly I am impressed by how good the AI are as far as combat and healing. I mean the healer does dps and cast protect at the start and even after someone has died.

    I can honestly say that the AI tanks do EVERYTHING on the gcd. No off gcd weaving and clearly no sense of AI which is why it's so slow to establish hate. I spent nearly 20 mins on the last boss of wanderers palace because the stupid tank kept running around and grabbing the adds leaving me to tank. I really wish that they just ditch these automated AI and just give us macros just like in FFXII.

    Yeah, the Tonberry King is definitely the worst for current tank AI. Need to add some finer controls for the squadron.

    My biggest issue is the commands and how the party follows them. I'm alright with redirecting the party, but can the commands Engage/Retreat pleeeease be sustained commands? It's so frustrating having to mash retreat 50 times to keep them out of fire puddles or whatever and in the time it takes me to target an add and hit Engage, they go racing like lunatics back into it to get at the boss. >.<; would be infinitely easier if it was like my SMN pet on obey. If I press Heel, it comes and stands by me until I tell it to attack again.

    Maybe I'll just get used to in time, but it seems like a very strange way to do it.

    On topic: tbh I often get player tanks that do worse than the squad AI so I won't complain. It uses ultimatum, cooldowns, not always perfect but at least makes an attempt to position mobs right. Might be nice to have a few more options to micro-manage the party better.

    Tried it out for fun, regretted doing so at Tonberry King, that tank AI is running around chasing every single add losing aggro on both the boss and all adds in the proccess. Then proceeds to get 1shot by Everyone's Grudge.
