Majority of us are feeling the burn of this mornings shameful display of SE's appreciation for its player base. Client crashes, long queues, and housing gone in minutes. Players are using alt accounts to buy multiple plots, reselling plots for ridiculous prices, etc. I've been reading the posts today and I keep hearing the same story. Players saving for years patiently waiting for the new ward. Today was the day of hope we all dreamed about.

So I purpose this FF players. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THE MOG STATION. IF YOUR AT THE END OF THE ROPE UNSUBSCRIBE.

We pay them our hard earned real life money for an experience. We expect a positive one! I expect them to invest some of our money into infrastructure to provide adequate housing for players and not just to the lucky ones, or the greedy ones, or the cheaters! We have to ban together and make them listen!

I mean... there were so many people interested that the 720 plots released sold in less than half an hour on every server and every one that freed up in other wards was claimed too afaik. And like, if enough people start leaving over it, it'll start impacting other aspects of the game, even if they're not the majority.

I think you are also forgetting that their are legit "Land Barons" in this game who buy up entire wards. Like apparently there was an FC in midgardsormr that bought up a whole ward in Shirogane in less than minutes.

You may not care about housing, however the "land barons" can't get every plot of land, and even when they do the simple fact people buy the houses at stupid high prices still proves your point... incorrect to say the least.

Let me ask you this. You "don't care" about housing yet you're here in the housing forums. For what reason, exactly? If you have no interest in it the only possible reason you could be here is to troll.

You can strike all you want but i didn't play or sub to FFXIV because of housing. So no, the majority of us is not that salty about housing.

But yes housing system should have been a "FC" exclusive deal instead. Not sure why they decided to allow personal housing back in 2.4 and not sure why it took 4 years for people to start complaining about housing when it didn't get much attention back then.

Yes, housing sucks. Am I salty about it? Not even close. I knew what we were getting with Shiro, I knew what to expect upon logging in, I knew what to expect with the download...and everything happened as expected. If anything plots were bought more slowly than I expected. Most of the salt on this forum is from people knowing all of this and still expecting to get a house when the reality was the odds were against you. The bottom line is, people's expectations were unreasonable and now they're pissed about it.

I don't hold SE blameless, I think its beyond time they implemented a better system but its not worth the level of rage I see being thrown around. But thats my opinion and I know most will disagree.

Yes, housing sucks. . . .Most of the salt on this forum is from people knowing all of this and still expecting to get a house when the reality was the odds were against you. The bottom line is, people's expectations were unreasonable and now they're pissed about it.

From what I’ve seen, I’ve seen more people angry that the servers themselves (newly “upgraded” NA servers, nonetheless) were unable to handle the traffic, and the launcher failing to even respond versus not getting a plot. A lot of people have said they wouldn’t be angry if they just hadn’t been fast enough getting to the plot; they’re saying they’re mad because the game itself literally prevented them from even having a chance. I don’t think people were expecting to get a house, but they were at least hoping for a chance to. There is a difference there.

I’m not surprised that they went fast. I’m just upset that these new servers SE supposedly got when they relocated the NA data centers couldn’t handle the traffic. It’s 2017. And the developers continue to cling to this Hunger Games-style housing system, even admidst the outrage over it from a lot of people.

So a strike isn't going to work, the experience your having isn't SEs fault, they have provided a housing service which everyone has equal rights to.

In theory, people have equal rights to housing. But, in reality, it all boils down to “who was lucky enough to land a lobby server error or unresponsive launcher at 3:01am PST” and “who was lucky enough to smoothly log in with only 100 people ahead of them in queue”.


I do agree that I don’t think a Mogstation strike is going to make a difference. Because if something comes out that people really want, they’ll probably buy it anyways. Really the only thing that would get SE’s attention would be a mass exodus of subscribers, but even that is unlikely to happen. Sadly, being disappointed with them and their housing system design choices just isn’t enough to prompt any sort of change...
