Mildly disappointed with lvl 70 WVR quest(mild spoiler)

So ive been slowly leveling my crafters, and weaver hit 70 last night. I was eager to do the quest to see how Kotocho's story would end, so i immediately headed to Kugane to get working.

So throughout the quest they talk about a dance that can bring an angel down from the heavens. As im running back and forth and getting ready to make the items(not to mention dealing with internet service that has decided it doesnt want to work that evening), i spend the whole time picturing this dance and what it would entail.

So i turn in the item, the cutscene starts so we can watch the performance, and i see the dance. It was ok for what it was, but in my head i had settled on some version of The Manderville being the dance that i was expecting. Am i the only one a little disappointed with this scene? Am i nuts? A little of both?

I had somewhat similar feelings... Instead of "WOOOOW", the final dance was... "MEH"... it was ok... that kind of feeling. [SPOILER AFTER THIS] But it was still quite heart-warming seeing the two rivalries dance happily together.

I recommend you trying CUL level 70 class quest... this might be what you were looking for, but in culinary form!

Ordinary acts don't become legends without some form of exaggeration, I'm sure the Wandering Minstrel can attest to that.
A lot of Doma's (and real life's) traditions have been formed around like stories.

I decided to take my time leveling this expansion as i dont need the money. I didnt start any DoH/L class until i finished the MSQ, and ive been leveling primarily off doing GC turn ins(plus 1 or 2 collectables if i was just short of a level and wanted to advance). I gather(almost) all my own mats, do all my own combines, and the exp is there. Ive focused on doing any starred recipes, any easy recipes, and any classes i feel like(either because of specialist or because i like the quests). At this point, everything is 65 or higher, and ill see how CUL plays out soon enough!

Given the quality of most dance in FF14, I'm not expecting anything nice anyway. Glad I did so.

Think the dance in that cutscene was one of the dances you can buy from mogstore, but with added fancy camera angles and such. Sadly the lvl 70 quests are always set up to be amazing, but end up disappointing (with the exception of DRK). Looking at you lvl 70 MCH quest. I wanted to see the knighting ceremony, instead I'm shooting bad guys elsewhere. Gieff me more Ishgard lore, dangit!

It's hard to comment without dropping some spoilers but save Alchemy for last or at least after you have done Bsm. If you are a 1.0 player who started in U'ldah the Alchemy one is going to have a lot of back lore for you and if you didn't, it explains a lot of back lore in a short period of time. Alch class quest rivals MSQ for depth.

Update: So last night LTW became my final crafting class to hit 70, completing my goal of getting them all(and all gathering) done before 4.1 came out. Alchemist had the best line. Got me thinking, and i think overall ALC ended up with the best quest line in all 3 separate tiers(2.x, 3.x and 4.x - 3.x being the most questionable one). Seems there may be a quest writer with a class preference.
