Hence why I emphasised the OP creating a thread versus merely commenting on an existing one. They went out of their way to highlight getting a plot despite knowing the overwhelming majority didn't. Likewise, people have no social obligation towards the OP, thus aren't liable to care. Most of the posts I have seen aren't necessarily directing their anger towards her but the idea she wants to "discuss" the positivity over a much maligned system. It's the equivalent of making a thread regarding the positivity of RNG. Not to many people will like that subject, even if they won't rage towards you, specifically, for getting lucky.

There's also a flaw with your metaphor/analogy, in that the person is not only someone who is my best friend, but simultaneously their situation has nothing to do with me. In the case of housing, someone getting a house means that someone else cannot get one. In the example you gave, I would have gotten promoted for something unrelated to my friend's firing, especially if we had completely different places of work.

Right, but the person fired isn't going to feel all that motivated to partake in your celebration. That doesn't mean they should attack you personally, but it's perfectly understandable they aren't going to be in a good mood nor want to discuss all the new benefits you'll get.

Yes, but simultaneously that would mean that the person would just not show up, or simply not participate in the celebration.

The same way that if people have an issue with this thread, they should just not reply to it and ignore it, moving on with their life.

That is my ultimate point. Arguing just to argue or posting just to post seems to be a constant thing in these forums, I guess.

Let me ask you this. Say you got a promotion at your current job but your best friend lost theirs on the same day. Would you celebrate in front of them on that very day and insist going out to dinner? Probably not.

I would assume most people would. I don't know if things have changed in today's participation trophy society, but it's usually common courtesy to suck in whatever shitty thing that has happened to you and be happy for someone else instead of being a downer. To use an example of my own, say your SO announced they wanted a divorce on the same day as your brother's wedding. Would you moan about how 'tone deaf' they are, or suck it in and get on with it?

Happened to a lot of people i know, How infuriating it must be to actually be the first to your dream plot just to have the damn signpost deny you while some guy saunters up behind you and takes it literally right out from under you after all the stress of the messed up patch and logging in with all the errors and having to deprive yourself of sleep and maybe even having to take a vacation day just so you can try to get the thing you've been dreaming of for months/years

Just personally I'm soooooo happy that I could've save a house for my FC. The whole FC feels very blessed. And I mean VERY!

But there's also a bitter aftertaste lingering....for all of those disapointed ppl out there now.

My FC managed to snag a medium in Shirogane. FC leader and her husband woke up early to install and be ready by the time the servers went live. They had plenty of money from the house they sold on Balmung before transferring. They said they would have liked to get a large house, but they ran out quickly.

Our Balmung house was a medium in Mist, so not a downgrade for us. Just a new location. I haven't explored the neighborhood yet, just the grounds and the house. Hopefully we're close to a MB.

I sincerely don't mean too and it sucks for the people who didn't get their plot. I honestly believe SE should throw in atleast three or four times the amount of wards in, I'm sure their billion dollar budget could afford it. Did you get a plot yourself?

I did. But not in Shirogane which I wanted. I was just lucky find one in Lavender.
