Positivity about housing!

Today, after I arrived home from a day at the office and getting a haircut, I ate and decided to log in to do some casual questing. After having my fill I decided to visit Ul'dah and check on the estates. I found one available for under 3 million.

How fortuitous.



It looks like I'll have some decorating to do later this week.

I can understand your excitement in getting your house and you just wanted to share it. The second I got mine, I did the same thing but I felt badly after I saw the flood of people saying they didn't get theirs.

I think it's probably better to just let it go for now. People are seriously upset so making a thread saying about how you got your house when the majority of others didn't is just going to be stepping on some toes. Dx Especially since I'm pretty sure that I did nothing different from anyone else here; I was just lucky enough not to get any errors.

I felt extremely lucky to have got a house because with my internet speed, I wasn't going to be able to finish downloading the patch on time. I had to use my almost all of my phone's data to speed it up. And that data allowance happened to reset today. Patch and new data allowance on the same day.

Then the launcher actually responded me quickly. I got some connection error twice while trying to get in, and both threw me out of queue, but at least I never went back to the launcher. On the third try after a reduced queue it hanged for a while and then I connected and loaded pretty fast in Kugane.

I wasn't the first one to log in leviathan. When I logged in I heard at least 3 people using the aetheryte. So, I selected the Aetheryte. The first time I selected the wrong choice, fuck. Cancel, try again, this time I selected housing wards. First thing I do is check somewhere in the middle of the list for wards if my house is still on sale. Still on sale, check subdivision because maybe people will look at those at the end, also on sale. So I select 9th ward as teleport destination

When I arrive at the dock at Shirogane I see like two people running to the mini aetheryte, one of them summoned a mount. I just hit sprint and run to the aetheyrite and select quickly my destination with the help of a pictured of the teleport menu with my destinations highlighted.

After I teleport I turn my camera quickly 180 degrees because I already knew that the house I wanted was behind me from where you spawn at that aetheryte. Still with sprint effect kept running with no one around in sight. Probably I could had gotten the mansion, but I thought it was too big for me, and that wasn't the time to deviate from the plan.

At the placard I navigate all the menus quickly and without any bugs showing up those golden letters that appear when you unlock something marked the end of the struggle. Just like that Shirogane Ultimate was over, flawless victory.

So with third world internet, and a soon to be 6 years old PC I managed to grab a house. At least the sleep over was worth. Although sometimes it feels bittersweet because so many people didn't even stand a chance. It's just beyond belief this is fine for SE.

Nothing positive to say really. I couldn’t get onto the server before every house was bought, despite logging in right at maintenance end time. Queue was too long.

My options: Quit paying SE and put the game down for the foreseeable future, or see if I get a house when they add more, in.. perhaps a year?

Do they deserve my money while I wait? I’ve been patient for years now already. I feel that they don’t care about us enough to fix the system so people can’t hoard houses. If I can’t play the way I want despite my large amount of playtime, I don’t feel like I’m getting my money’s worth anymore.

I’ve been a loyal customer for so long, but SE has lost my trust finally.

I wasn't looking for a house, I got an apartment instead like a plebeian. The FC leader was gunning for a mansion for the FC and didn't have a chance, so I understand the hate the system is getting.

It's "positive" this statement is not fact. It wouldn't be "fun" for most people.

I guess that's my two cents for positivity toward the whole thing

This is literally a bragging post for those who won the log in queue lottery. LOL

It was an interesting launch. I personally already had a house in LB and still do, don't plan to move, but I did get an apartment in Shirogane. Logged in pretty fast, was like 115th in queue and found my camera staring at the ground in LB lol. I knew a friend wanted to move from Mist to Shirogane and wanted to see if his desired plot is still there, so ported to Kugane and then to Shirogane. He had issues logging in for like 5 minutes, though and the moment he did log in I saw someone snatch the plot he wanted in the ward he wanted. Immediately told him to not come to this ward as the plot he wanted was gone, so he went to another ward, got his plot and moved his house there. I got my apartment then in his ward so we can be neighbours as his house is right next to the apartment building. We spent the entire afternoon decorating, it was nice.
