What can tenants do? Thinking about letting people share my house.

I was lucky to get a small house in Shriogane today and I was thinking about sharing my house with people who didn't get a chance. I don't know all of the rights a tenant has in a house. I didn't want to open up my home to strangers and then they do something horrible like steal stuff or sell my house. What do you guys think? I thought it might be nice to give someone access to my aetherite and garden.

You can do exactly that. By default, they only have the right to warp to your house and use your Npcs (Crystal bells, material suppliers, armoire.)

You can expand those rights to gardening and chocobo Stables. Just dont enable the remove and place furniture option. :]

That's the things you can give access to, to a tenant (bit of an old screenshot, as I think it currently also includes orchestrion and aquarium usage). Along with the ability to use furniture that can be interacted with. (Summoning bell, food, etc.)

they can't sell your house.

whether they can steal things is up to you. each tenant has their own setting.

On the lowest level allowed, all a tenant can do is teleport to your house and use NPCs/ bells/ anything clickable in the house, so you do not have to worry about them stealing furniture, you can give this someone you know so they can basically have a safe space/alone space in your hose.

Then you can give them access if you chose with setting music, and letting them decorate, if you give them access to decorate, they can steal furniture so give that to people who you trust.

So if you give them access to gardening, orchestration, they can't touch your layout or steal. Just make sure there is no yellow light on the "estate customization" thing

This is what I'm doing with my sister when/if she ever decides to devote any time to playing the game beyond an hour here or there every couple of weeks. I have her set up as a tenant in my house now, and I've considered doing the same for some other people who didn't get a house.

So, if anyone's on Coeurl and would like to share a small house in Lavender Beds, let me know and we can get to know each other. I'll include all permissions with the exception of editing furniture/decorations etc. It's a moogle themed lot, because ..moogles, but right now the house is more or less empty.

I'll give this a try too with the small Shirogane Mateus home I managed to get last night. It's plot 27, near the waterfall. I'll be keeping it close as I can to the "Hingan" theme, however like the OP I would keep editing to myself so there is no risk on my end. It'll probably be a few days before I get the home decently furnished though lol.
