    Crafting Abilities are CRAP!

The idea of having little abilities you can use during synthesis is awesome, the only problem is that most of the ones I've tried not only do not help, they actually make it worse!

Take Masterpiece, the ability says that it increases the chance of success for Careful Synthesis. I swear every time I use it, my Careful Synthesis fails roughly 3/4 times, if not, 4/4. It doesn't matter if I'm making a level 15 item at rank 15, or I'm making a level 1 item at rank 15. It says that it's most effective with mass production. I'm not sure exactly what that means, or if crafting an item that outputs 3 of an item counts as mass production, but it doesn't seem to matter because I've tried it while doing the 9 stack lumber synthesis and it STILL botches every synthesis I make.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or am I simply cursed by the twelve to forever have my crafts break whenever I use an ability?

Agree so much potential wasted with abilities that have little to no effect.

    ^What a solid contribution to my synth.^

Improvise, Tender Touch & all the Stat-Quality improvement abilities like Manipulation are so funny. As far as i'm concerned only skill that actually works perfectly is Perfection. If it fails to take effect you can see it, If it works it actually works
Please Devs do something for us that actually like crafting and the mechanics of it.

I think Preserve works pretty damn well too. It does what it says on the tin and is a must-have for everyone. So yeah, there are a few abilities that work the way you'd think they'd work, but a lot of them don't seem to help much. I'd suggest to the OP to do some maths to see if stuff like Maker's Muse, Masterpiece, Blinding Speed, etc actually work. Do it on some disposable cheap stuff and see what it takes ya.

Crafting abilities should be in the action bar and used by the player when they want (with a timer or only used once per synthesis).

Same for the Discipline of the Land, use the abilities/traits when they want in the action bar while gathering.

Both Discipline of the Hand and Land need a complete reform and become more than menu interactions.
Actions in action bars, true always active traits, and different mini-games using the actions in the action bar.

I guess i'll start posting my mini-games idea...

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.

lol. Well i use it on high level synths and what it does is turn the orb white for four turns.
But again either 3/4 or 4/4 fail and i get my synth beaten to the ground (most likely get a destabilazation.

Dunno. it just feels like nothing really works or does so little, pitiful difference that i just rather use "wait"
and standart most of the time hehe.

They serve a purpose! A crappy purpose but a purpose. If you use an ability between /waits it will reset the wait penalty to 1. That's pretty much the only use out of the abilities that I get apart from grand design and hasty hands.

Some abilities are very apparent, usually they are: Hand of God, Perfection, Assemble like type (quick 30% progress or 0% progress if fail), Manipulation type (very big surge in Quality if succeed), Hasty Hand, Tender Touch type (roughly 3-5 durability loss reduce every action) and Preserve (always make orb turn white). The other half of the abilities are either vague or the calculation is too complex to matter.

So only half of them are great and/or apparent, and the other half of the abilities are useless.

This for some reason reminds me of the combat system before 1.20. I wonder if Square's ever going to get around to revamping and streamlining both the crafting and the gathering abilities...
