The first boss of the Drowned City of Skalla seems to have his attacked names mixed up:
"Hydro Pull" pushed us away while
"Hydro Push" pulled us in.
Have they been accidentally switched?

Yeah it's weird....I've chalked it up to bad translations, similar to the second boss of The Temple of the Fist.
That's true but sometimes English names are easier. For instance, in A6/A8, the debuffs names are Low / High arithmetiks when in the other 3 languages their names are the equivalent of Arithmetiks 1 / 2.
They're not common knowledge. They're common knowledge if you've been around boats. Granted, port star fore & aft are mentioned elsewhere in the game, but these are not "common knowledge" terms. They're specialized nautical & aeronautical terms that don't appear in the top 5000 english word frequency list (basic vocabulary is around the 2k top frequency). This is like saying intractable, idempotent and omnifarious are "common knowledge".
In what reality are nautical terms 'basic vocabulary'? Holy moly, pass what you're smoking.
Let's not even go into the fact that this game isn't translated into many languages, many players use the English version without having a huge grasp on the language.
Kelpie clearly needs to be taught a lesson in physics.
On the serious, I think we can safely call it an oops in the EN entries.
