WTF housing gone within 10 minutes of server being up!

I am utterly disappointed and so is our free company. We have saved up months to get enough to purchase a large plot (havent been able to get one due to all the housing is full)

So we were excited about the new area, we literally logged in as soon as we could after the updates and the server going up and all the medium and large plots are gone!!!

Within 10 minutes of the serve being up they have been swooped up by faster connections. This is on the behemoth server, i can imagine the other servers are like this too.

New housing zones need to be released...FF boasts of what 6 million players and you can only accommodate a handful of free company houses? this needs addressing...months of grinding and excitement gone in 10 minutes....

I am just sad hopeful enough people will voice this out and maybe something will be done about it.

It's a total joke. There is no sane explanation for why they can't spin up some more housing instances.

Whoever came up with the idea to limit the amount of housing available to 720 plots per residential area, needs to be re-educated on how supply vs. demand works.

What is even more frustrating is when you get disconnected several times while some had litteraly no problems... what a shame.

And please, big houses only for guilds...

So how many houses are available now....4 areas with 720 plots each (30 per ward, 12 wards with 12 sub wards included) 2,880 in total per server. 190k in the entire game (based on 66 servers which i think is all of them). Considering FFXIV boasts of 10 million subscribers, if it was a drop....i would have a better chance of obtaining the nightmare pony with those rates!!!!

Looking online there is an average of like 200k people per server except the Japanese server which appears lower (according to this https://ffxivcensus.com/) so that would make it 2,880 houses (small, med, large) that's 0.014!
Disclaimer: I am basing the playerbase on the census website and my math may not be fool proof but you get the idea

I completely agree!

My FC and I worked hard to scrape all the Gil together we could over the past couple of months to afford a large house in the new area since it was advertised in the trailer....
I logged today, at the exact moment the servers went live after maintenance and I was in a queue for 10 minutes.
I headed straight to the residential district only to find that ALL of the Large and Medium houses were already taken 5 minutes before I even managed to get through the login queue.

Does this mean that my FC and I now have to wait another 6 months or more for a new housing residential area or additional slots??? (Only to be taken immediately again???)
This has been the biggest disappointment in the game I have encountered.

I'm not one to ever complain about this game at all - if anything I have defended its quirks and such throughout, but this just takes the cake... The cake is indeed a lie!
