Reading a lot of comments about the AI of their squads, and I'm guessing many players just let them do their thing to see how smart they really are.

Interesting enough, managing squadron AI isn't much different than micro managing my fairy when playing SCH. The engage and disengage commands work similar to place and stay, and are important to use to keep them out of AoE and add phases during bosses.

I unlocked DRK and had a far easier time getting through instances when I tanked. Hell, I felt I was holding them up more than the other way around. I got my DRK to 32 so I could go into Brayflox and practice switching between offensive and defensive stances, and eventually got to 34.

It was a lot of fun and I felt like I learned a thing or two about tanking without the anxiety that I'm pissing everyone off. I have a lot more confidence queueing up for an instance with real players. Actually might be more relaxing not having to micro manage squadron AI.
