The official response on increasing housing wards and improved conditions for buyers in such an immediate fashion is truly telling for a turn-around on community outreach and interaction. (Detailed here.)

I know many, many people have had to complain very loudly to get this to happen, but the fact that it didn't fall on deaf ears should be a sign that all of this has been worth the effort. And that, as a community, we should voice our concerns about these types of serious issues and can expect the development team to take them into consideration.

If not for many, definitely for me, this has restored much hope in the team going forward and I'd personally like to express appreciation for their own efforts in both acknowledging and formulating a plan to deal with this issue.

.. now let's just hope they take a hard look at those side-buns on Miqo'tes.

I'm glad they responded so soon but I'll save my celebrations when I see this problem fixed.

I'm especially wary since they insist on keeping us in the dark until the very last minute (of our gametime so we have to resub)

Just as long as it's not that lottery to buy houses, I'm a touch relieved, this will remain a problem as long as the game continues to grow, however. At least they finally acknowledge that this is a problem and are now working to move forward a with a fix nd have confirmed that new wards are coming next patch to at least help a bit.

And holy crap the fact that FC rooms went kaboom when an FC could relocate? That's one hell of a nasty error!

Hopefully some posters on here will reflect on their abusive language toward the development team in regard to this issue, and feel similarly obligated to offer an apology.

Yoshida Apologized for HW release, we got SB release (in many case, worst than HW...)
Yoshida apologized for housing at the 2.1, we got Personnal housing
Yoshida apologized (and said we didnt understand what he said...)for personnal housing, we got this.

In my job I've had to. It's not easy to live with. What is easy is ignoring situations, sweeping it under the carpet, moving onto something else.

We have one of the most dedicated people I can recall in years of mmo involvement. Resurrecting the game to be one of the best and greatest mmo's of our time.

Yet, over and over, we hurl anonymous sarcastic abuse at him.
Then he responds, which just becomes another platform for more sarcastic abuse.

I did to. I did was sure i could manage things for some friends, FC, in my work, and failed to do it.
I am able to say "ok, i failed... " In fact... it is not so hard. Just have to get critic spirit, and take time to watch with the others eyes. Hard in begnining, but it become a good exercise.

AND there is some mistakes i did again after, YES. For those, i didnt even try to apologize. i did all i could do to repair it. Even if it meaned sleeping less for a week.

In fact, most of my mistake, i didnt say "i am sorry" ... I just did what i had to do to make the situation better. And if i thought it was not enough, (or couldnt do anything) i came to clearly apologize.
Act are better than speaking.

When Yoshida came in end of September 2013, to apologize about ARR release, it was ok, i said it was a good dev director, i said he wants the best for his game.
All along ARR i did defend Yoshida when some things were shit, like the... 500M large house prices! "He got his reason" "just a mistake, it's ok, the game is young" And i didnt do more than just laugh when he admitted the insane prices was to avoid too fast buy because servers were not totally ready, then legacy servers goes down (250/500M for a L house => 100M). Ok, he didnt want to admit housing was not ready and didnt want to delay it in fact no problem.
He spoke about the PvP... wolf's den, shitty, then first frontline... only dead pvp... I said he needed time to find the good way. The game is young, and SE experience in PvP is nearly 0 (FFXI didnt have pvp, i mean a real thing around PvP)
HW release? Ok many matter, but first expansion, he will learn.

I even accept all his apologize about the latency... THIS latency that made all fights harder than it should...

Yes he resurected the game, there is good things in it. But Yoshida prove me that the matter is not devs that answers, but devs that acts. I would gladly prefer Yoshida to shut his mouth, or even answer with sarcasm, if he learn from mistakes, if he do things to go really better, i wouldnt care this lack of communication.

The matter is, Yoshida speaks, a lot, he is even able to apologize, but... acts are not there.

Saying "i am sorry" doesnt mean you are sorry...
Saying "i read what you said, i will think about it" doesnt mean you will focus on the topic...
For now, yoshida said those more than he did in consequence

Last time we had housing issues, they added more wards. This time, they're adding more wards and...something super secret?

Hopefully the super secret isn't more wards. The playerbase is explodinggrowing, so we'll need a forward-thinking fix.
