But this is not a raid based on skill level. This is based on who got lucky enough to login and not get an error joining lobby and got stuck behind a line queue. This is a major draw to the game to have your own housing. They campaign about and show it off but guess what, if you didn’t praise the RNG gods, you don’t get one. But don’t worry, John Doe and Jane doe can buy 7 houses that they don’t need. I guess we can just wait until 3 years from now when they release another expansion and have more people come back and new subs then it will be the same problem all over again

To be blunt: yes, you are. Your idea doesn't really work as well as you'd like it to. A better idea is to implement instances you teleport to alongside the neighborhoods instead of your idea. Yours wastes too many resources implementing it and then later updating it.

Also, as for housing, I waited two years and managed to grab one eventually, so. /Shrug/ It was before this, so your argument doesn't stand and in fact bolsters mine. "You can eventually do it if you're patient." Just like with your argument for Ultimate and how it's not apt, it's a matter of being patient and opportunity. Eventually someone WILL lose their in-game house or relinquish it.

It's not a good comparison at all. 1 is available to anyone that wants it bad enough to form a group and push strats with a team. The other is actually LIMITED. No matter how hard you fight or push for a house, can't get one

There's no comparison. One requires resources that are available (time, desire, skill), one requires resources that are not available. No amount of time, skill, echo, static groups, video guides, gil, ilvl, is going to place additional housing plots in the game.

This isn't a hard concept. One content is available to all players that want to achieve it. The other content isn't available at all until SE intervenes.

Specifically, they shouldn't have to do another ward. It should work similar to apartments and wouldn't have the "hold contests to decorate the neighborhood" thing going on. You just teleport right into your plot from the same entrance you have wards at, because that is far more resources than it should take. Nevermind that eventually, with part of the draw of neighborhoods being the changes the various neighbors bring to their homes, they'd have to do another contest. And another. And another. Just to keep people content and to be fair to newer players, which is kind of a long-term drain compared to the suggestion I made here.

Frankly, my main suggestion is instances plots. However, a significant portion of current homeowners are vehemently against this. As such I tried to find a solution that works well for everybody.

Yup, I'm seriously considering cancelling my subscription as well. Been saving for months, only to be screwed out of housing due to a lobby error (5006) and a blank login button upon reloading.

Call it rage, salt, butthurt, whatever you want. In no way shape or form is this kind of system acceptable and it most certainly isn't acceptable to lock people out of something because of an error on their end. Rather than fix the problem it's going to be ignored until it blows over. Well I'm going to be done with Square-Enix if they don't at least acknowledge their mistake and begin taking steps to rectify the situation.
