Probably Cancelling My Subscription

i stayed up all night to get a house for my wife and i. we worked hard to save up for it too. but when the servers went live again i was stuck in queue for nearly twenty minutes and by the time i was on every single housing plot on the server had been bought up.

i was really excited for this patch. i was looking forward to the new raid and there was a lot of stuff that seemed like good quality of life changes. but this has kinda soured my mood for playing for a while.

i kinda just wanna cry that something i was looking forward to since before stormblood released and that i got stormblood in part because of is something im just completely locked out of

so i'll probably be cancelling my subscription for the foreseeable future and will ask my wife to do the same if i do.

i doubt im alone in this. there are probably many like me. new content shouldn't have this affect. something needs to change. there should probably be an apology by square enix as well.

they definitely need to apologize and do something. same thing happened to my wife.

we woke up early, were on the moment the servers went up and the fricking login server crashed on us.

we were on queue for 20 min and everything was sold even in old districts. fricking broken game.

I'm unsubbing, and have already done it in fact. I feel the same as you, and it has been my only goal on FFXIV to buy a medium house. Money speaks, so honestly I encourage others who feel the same to follow along. :/

I didn't expect to be this disappointed over one small aspect of a patch but I am.

My Free Company has been waiting for months for this. We managed to scratch out enough for a large plot but before I could get through the long queue every server was sold out.

It is beyond discouraging that we're locked out of some content because of decisions SE has made to limit their own game.

My FC have saved enough money to buy 4x large houses, but we got ZERO! ADD MORE WARDS! this is absurd!

I wouldn't suggest cancelling your subscription due to the poor housing release. like you & most other players we have all saved up just so we could all enjoy the nice life of living in Shirogane. Unfortunately SE did not do its home work to make sure that players would not be allowed to bye up the lots only to try & sell them at higher pricing. That's exactly why they disappeared so quickly. But other than that, we have come a long way so far so & the journey has been a wonderful one with all the other added content that followed. I will enjoy the new content now as well & cheerfully ask all to do the same 7 not call it quits because of the big disappointment with the new housing.

I know I feel this way too right now. I am not playing the new content because after the MONTHS I spent saving I feel spiteful towards SE. I don't want to put any more of my time into this damn game knowing it won't get me what I want. I'm taking a break until I calm down and maybe later when my friends log on I can apply salve to it all.

Housing is a small aspect of the game but right now I feel discouraged too.

I HOPE that SE will take this backlash on housing to heart and announce a fix.

This is one of the worst aspects of this. People who hadn't logged in for months (a year in my case), renewed because people like us who were unable to obtain a house all of this time saw an opportunity to finally get one. Surely, they would address the thorn in many of our sides with this new iteration of housing? Nope.

Logged in early to get this done before I left for work. 20 min login queue. Everything sold out already. Once I'm done with SB content, my sub will likely get cancelled again.

I will likely take a month or so break after doing the MSQ and clearing the 24 raid... the housing situation really left a sore taste in my mouth.
